Electrologist in Boca Raton, FL

I know we should go through the directories of registered electrologists by ourselves. But believe me, I`ve been researching for about 4 months, and that is too many people doing it nowadays, and I just cant make my mind.

Ive been reading almost all this posts and Andreas pages but I still not sure where to do it.

Please, I would appreciate if someone could refer me some experienced and good(don’t have to be the best) professional electrologist near my home, can be from Boca Raton to Ft.Lauderdale.

Thanks a lot

This is a post from a couple days ago from one of our hairtell electrologists, Arlene Batz, CPE:

"There is a highly skilled and knowledgable electrologist who also administers laser. She works at the Aesthetic Science Institute in Boca Raton. That isn’t too far, right?
Ask for Marion Ellner
Phone: 561 367 9101

Say hi for me.

Good Luck. "

Oh yes, I saw that post, I did google her, and read about the Institute where she works, seems like she is good and have many years of experience, not only here in Florida, but up in NY too.

I guess she will be the one.
But will wait to see if anyone else give me more names!

Thank you so much, I appreciate your answer!

You are very welcome, Yurika, and may I add the words, good luck. Come back and let us know about your experience. We love to pass on information about highly skilled elctrologists to our bewildered hairtell posters. I hope more people will respond to you.

Dee

I just called to speak to her but was told that Marion retired and has moved to Panama.
Any other suggestions for South Florida? I’m also looking for a good electrologist and would have no problem driving up to 2 hours or maybe more to see them.

Hi! I just started seeing Robin Litt @ A AAA Hair removal. She does laser and electro. She has a new computerized machine and seems very capable! I trust her work, as my sample appt. I never felt her pluck a hair and it was not painful as I expected. I haven’t found anyone in the area who has new equipment, which I don’t like. They all say “that’s for the new girls who don’t know what they are doing!” She is in Deerfiled Beach. Good luck!

Can you hear me laughing in Ohio?? What an obnoxious, ignorant, self-serving statement. Electrologists that make such comments, in all probability, have never come within 10 feet of even touching a computerized epilator to even know what they are talking about with such authority. Sad to say for the clients they serve, I think they are intimidated and are afraid to step out of their comfort zone. Both parties are missing out on something very, very good that has happened to the electrolysis profession within the last 10 years especially.

She forgot to call them highfalutin, too!

I’m far from being a new anything :frowning: , far from not knowing what I’m doing  , but I’ll own highfalutin  if it means my clients get the best.

Dee you are so right. Last year Dectro came to our annual seminar, on my request, after I had purchased my SX-500, and no one was interested. I’ve had one colleague want to come to my office and play with mine, but ever since she found out what I paid for it, she hasn’t mentioned it again. If I had the Platinum, I really would be highfalutin!

I wanted to mention that word “highfalutin” but was too lazy to look up the spelling.

Well, Choice, I am an official leap-frogging, highfalutin, hot shot mama now because I have taken the action to upgrade to an Apilus Platinum. Will need a little time to familiarize myself with all the bells and whistles and get a mini-course in using the different modes, but all will settle nicely, just like it did when I upgraded from the three other brands that I have owned.

I am trying to sell a few epilators and have called around locally and statewide. One electrologist is upgrading from her ClareBlend and others say it’s too expensive. I won’t go into my economic lesson plan on the benefits of upgrading, but will sum it up as being “a real good move”. If you see less than 10 clients a month, then maybe it’s not such a good plan of action to upgrade. That makes sense, but one should not be poo-pooing the idea that newer epilators are for “new girls that don’t know what their doing”. Such garbage!

Consumers be aware of such teriitorial, unenlightened comments.

Dee

All I am going to say on the subject is reduced irritation and swelling. Everytime I have upgraded the amount of redness, swelling, itching and discoloration has decreased. Eventually, I guess everyone will walk out of my place looking like they had nothing more than a vigorous massage… Oh yeah, that is what most people worked on with an Apilus Platinum look like.

I am bracing myself for another summer of more angry boyfriends and husbands to accuse me of having affairs with their women as each upgrade has left even less evidence of treatment for an even shorter period of time.

I have talked about it here before how one husband was so convinced that his wife was paying me his money for something other than hair removal due to her lack of signs of treatment when he saw her hours after treatment. His Private investigator proved him wrong. (if there were no windows in the treatment room, and the blinds not open, who knows where that would have gone) Unfortunately for him, the wife found the folder with pictures and the bill and lit into him. His contrition/guilt gift – A new Mercedes-Benz.

I think I just figured out what my new commercial will be! Get electrolysis and get an expensive guilt gift.

I read your posts and you all have such a level of confidence! I hope that the woman I found with her Instatron Elite Spectrum is as good as I think she will be. No one here uses computerized machines…or at least who I have spoken with. This is an affluent area too. Lasers are everywhere, but not electrolysists. :frowning: Question… After 4 laser hair removals I am switching to electro b/c of your confidence in electro-seriously! I am still doing the laser on my bikini, but have moved to electro for the labia b/c the skin is darker and the machine has to be turned down when she treats that area. Too many people have had to switch when they were done. I’m bailing early for permanant results. She can do blend, thermolysis, and microflash. My hairs are fine hairs (like arm hairs) after laser. She said she will try blend this Friday and Microflash to see how I do, but that she likes the way the hairs are coming out on thermolysis. I don’t feel her plucking and it is not too painful. In fact it is way better than I thought it would be. Should I stay on course, or let her do the microflash since Dee has said it is just as “deadly” as blend or go to blend that is slower, but more effective? What would you do? I have most of the hair because I only had 4 treatments, it’s just thinner. You’re opinions always are appreciated. I think she treats me at 1.8 or 18??? Not sure? Thanks!!! Also, when you treat someone after laser, do you find that pubic hair becomes finer and more shallow that it can be killed easier?

Yes, to your last question and OH,YES! to microflash being just as deadly as other electrolysis modalities. Microflash is really dependent on practitioner skill, probe size and special techniques. You need perfect insertions.Perfect insertions are made better by magnification and lighting quality. Again, all modalities work well to “kill hair”, but I always choose the fastest modality to clear hair and to keep the area maintained until the end comes. I love the blend and I use it when I instinctively feel I need to or if clients request the blend. I use it also if clients prefer that sensation over thermolysis.

The goal is always to get the hair off as soon as possible, and you can meet the goal very well with microflash or picoflash thermolyis. Please do not give up on any electrologist that does this another way if you are fairly comfortable and you are pushing forward. She/he will still deliver permanent hair removal to you. I am just communicating to you what else is going on out there in the electrology world and if it’s available to you, then that is great! If the electrologist demonstrates skill and understanding of the computerized options of microflash and picoflash thermolysis, then that is just awesome . It is not the only way though to remove hair, but I personally think it is a cost efficient and a depression buster way to remove hair permanently, simply because it is fast and effective.

Thanks Dee! She has good lighting and wears magnifying glases, so I am hopeful. I am having her treat the hairs as they poke through after the laser. I am hoping this means I have had “first clearance”, as we should be getting the hairs in anagen. Is this a good machine? How come so many men on the mature forum find thermolysis ineffectual? That is what scares me. I want to be done in a year or so…small area, good amount of fine hair. She is concerned about heat factor on microflash on the sensitive inner lip tissue…any advise?

bump

No need to be afraid, either modality is fine. Your electrologist can try both and then settle on the modality that seems to be working the best for whatever the area. I use both microflash and blend. I do more microflash than blend, but am not a staunch microflash electrologist for every situation. She will instinctively know by observation where she will need to change things up.

Those electrologist’s that refuse to do blend will tell you otherwise, but they have the know how to make changes in their levels and technique to still get the job done, so I can’t say I agree with the heat level of microflash explanation. You will just have to trust her because this is her way of delivering permanent hair removal to her clients.

The men you refer to on the mature forum have their opinions as well. This is all subjective reporting. Microflash/picoflash is just as deadly to hair as blend. That’s the beauty of the term ‘electrolysis’ - it encompasses several modalities that take people forward to gaining permanent hair removal.

My advice is to choose the best electrologist in your area and go with her level of comfort because she can see you, but do keep in mind that there are other paths to victory as well.

Thanks Dee! I will let you know after Fridays appt. how the microflash and blend attempts went. Your expertise is always appreciated.

You are most welcome, w2bc. Will be interested in your views from the client side of things.
