Effects of plucking

No doubt this is one of those YMMV things, but generally speaking how much waxing etc can a person get away with before follicles start to distort? I’m curious about having part of the body worked on with electrolysis, while the rest would be waxed. I’m also wondering about the 5 months I spent going. to town every week on my body with a rotary epilator, too. I gave that up the minute I found out about its bad effects, too.

This varies a lot, but generally speaking straight hair is a lot more forgiving than curly hair and darker skins will be more reactive than lighter skins. I have seen people who have tweezed daily over many years with barely any effect on their skin from it, and others who have tweezed over a short period of time and their skin becomes immediately distressed. A rotary epilator is particularly harsh on most skins. Is your skin visibly distressed?

No, the rotary tweezing didn’t have any effect on my skin, and my hair is straight, so I guess I’m out of the woods here. Thanks for your reply!

Thank you Christine for tackling this one. Quite often I’m finding people are avoiding questions like this one because " Seana will handle it" . Well, I dont always have the time. And quite often I lack the right words to do so effectively.
