Doing Electro - need your opinion

Hello!

I am a cis-female, 27 y.o going through Electrolysis since December 2018 (keeping in mind I did not touch my face during five months last year due to Covid-19) on my face and June 2020 on my body (abdominal and chest area).

I know electro takes several months to see results, in fact, I started seeing results last year around June (2020). I have parts of my neck, jawline and cheeks that are hair free or cleared up. I started with 20 minutes every week doing face and neck overall ( the hair that was very black was my priority that time) and I still doing 20 minutes but changed the method, therefore, nowadays I do half of the neck + one side of the face one week and the next week, the other side. It seems effective, I mean, with 20 minutes on each side I get 70% of the area clear and it grows back after 15-20 days or so, I guess it’s the way it works.

On my body I do 30 to 45 minutes every three or four weeks depending on the area - abdominal area every four and chest every three weeks to clear up all the fuzzy hair I have.

I know it works way different on the face than the body part, but I was wondering if I could be done in a year or so? or at least if it could be plausible to go under electro once a month by next year… I know this is a very general question but, what is the average ratio?

PS: I have what doctors call Adrenal PCOS, meaning I do not suffer from real PCOS actually but my adrenals make too much cortisol due to stress and that messes up my endocrine system.
Since my T levels are just at the limit ( yeah, the T , free T and DHT ) and I have my menses every single month, my doctors (four in four years!!) have ruled out to prescribe meds so I guess I’ll have to deal with this my entire life but could I treat the hair that is very thin in order to prevent further complications? or it doesn’t make sense since it’s not “rebel” hair?

It sounds like you are doing everything you can honestly. Let me fill in a few details but I think maybe I know what you are up to.
From what you’ve said, it seems to imply that your method change was perhaps from thermolysis to blend? I will just say, if you are able to trat half of your face in 20 minutes in blend, do it. If possible do a 40 minute session and do the whole face. This is not enough hair to scrimp over and blend has a VERY high kill rate. It takes a little longer per hair than thermolysis on an individual treatment basis but blend delivers beautiful, and rapid results.
PCOS is a tough gig. Often I find medical personnel downplay the effects of testosterone in the bloodstream and “just on the edge of normal” is honestly too high. They do this because the endocrine system is a delicate system that they DO NOT recieve enough training on in medical school. While I can disagree with the finding that "on the edge " of mormal range is a suitable reason NOT to use medical intervention however, the fact is your medical professional is a doctor , and I am not. For this reason, I defer apprehensively to your medical professionals opinion.
That said however, if you have minimea DHT numbers, you can expect the effects on a hirsutism to also be mild. It will serve to extend treatmentbeyond minimal periods, but the amount of treatment should be also minimal. You can still go ahead andfinish the bulk of your treatment on schedule, It’s just you’ll ahve some minimal ongoing treatments to catch new growth that is generated by ongoing PCOS symptoms.once orr twice a year to catch things so they dont become a problem wont be too large an inconvenience.
Pandemic stoppages, however are a different concern. Removing all hair in the minimum 18 or so months from an area depends on regular treatments that remove hair within all cycles of growth. It’s still possible however to delay treatments 3-5 motnhs and not have too many ill effects. In fact some electrologists work exclusively that way including in my opinion the worlds best electrologist, Josefa Reina…

Regardless, blend is an excellent way to go to achieve the shortest removal timeline.and if that is the way your electrologist has guided you then i applaud that route as a choice… Dont sweat the small stuff. Keep removing the hair within each cycle of growth. Dont pluck or shave the hair , and treat all hair in all phases of hair growth with every treatment, and you will have the shortest overall treatment possible.

Thank you very much for your answer!

Yes I do blending nowadays. The issue is though I do not tolerate well the discomfort, and my electrologist refuses to use Emla or similar creams on the skin - not sure why, but she recommended me to bear the pain! So on the face it’s a huge rollercoaster for me. Funny though, because I can do more than 45 minutes on the body with any kind of pain but I guess the face is thinner skin…

Oh I have heard about Mrs Reina. She lives in south Spain I think, but I live in Barcelona unfortunately!
