Does it matter how far apart you space your laser appointments in terms of how effectively hairs are killed?
generally yes. too close is a waste of money. if you stick within 8-12 week frame and even a bit longer after first 4 treatments, that would be ultimate. usually, longer is better after a few treatments. shorter spacing (less than 8 weeks) only wastes your money.
Thanks LA Girl! How far apart should I space my first 4 treatments? Can they ever be spaced apart too far? For example, if I do one every three months will that be ineffective?
what area?
legs and underarms
legs can definitely wait 3 months. the growth cycle there is one of the longest. underarms, i would do at 8-12 weeks to start and move to around 16 weeks later if need be. that’s 3 months as well.
Thanks for all your help! I’m really interested in trying laser…the place I’m looking into uses alexandrite, which I’ve heard good things about so we’ll see!
Can treatments be spaced too far apart??
I am taking a 6 month to 1 year break from my treatments (after 4 treatments). I was told people do this all the time to have kids or what not –
Will this have a negative effect on my treatments??
Just like they say, everyone is different. My growth cycles shorten from 10 weeks at the being of the treatments to 5-6 weeks after an intense program, well over a year. I was told to use the 'call to make an appointment one to weeks after seeing the emerging new growth." rule of thumb. I did take a break, but it takes a full coverage treatment to clean out both the active and dormant hair. But, It is paramount to get those hairs treated in the anagen window.
