Does spiro increase vellus hair?

Hello,

I’am looking for the reason of my increase in my peach fuzz since 2 years.
I’ve started spiro at 25mg in may and increase at 50mg last month.
At first i thought it was differine the cause of my peach fuzz which im still not quite sure. But i just came across an article about accelarered vellus hair and it says that some medication can cause accelarated vellus hair syndrome ! Medications for transgender and menopause are on it, so i suspect spiro fall into this group.

Could you help me figure this out ? Is someone having the same issue ? Iam starting to feel depressed about finding solutions for my hormonal problems and discovering after that i might make things worse…

An increase in facial hair growth is usually hormonal but can be a side effect of certain medications. Spironolactone does not cause an increase in hair growth.

If you re-read the article it specifies female to male trangender. They are talking about endocrine changes involving the addition of testosterone. Testosterone can and will cause vellus hair to become accelerated vellus and eventually terminal hairs.

Spiro doesnt cause accelerated vellus growth. It has lot of crappy side effects, but increased vellus hair isnt one of them. Also when in doubt, please check medication concerns with your medically qualified doctor. We are hair removal specialists. Only Doctors are doctors.

Good post Seana. Virtually all medications have side effects. While most side effects are well documented historically, there are side effects that can pertain to specific individuals.

For example, the lining around my heart became inflamed from the second Pfizer vaccine. At the time, those side effects were not known; and ostensibly they are rare occurrences. I’m still having transient symptoms, but seem to be generally better … although I’m now in the care of a cardiologist. So far, so good.

Yes that’s why i was worried about, there’s some side effects that happen very rarely but im very unlucky so i’m always hesitant with new medications. And the doctors are not experts on every medications sadly, they know how the body works in general but they can’t know everything, that will be a lot to process.

I hope you’re feeling better I didnt get the vaccine because i was scared about this too…

If you’re young(ish) and healthy … I would not recommend the vaccine; well, not the RNA “vaccines” that aren’t actually vaccines. My physicians says that in a few months an actual vaccine should be available that will offer more than a few months of semi-immunity. Still, all the corona viruses are nearly impossible to head off with a vaccine. Infuriatingly, all this became political.

Eric’s mom (my sister), her husband and two nieces contracted COVID-19, tested positive and had no symptoms at all. Very strange. Anyone who claims to know “all the science” on this virus is a damned liar.
