Does prior waxing affect results of electrolysis?

One electrologist told me that since I used to wax my facial hairs before that there would be more difficulty and more time needed to treat my hair with electrolysis. Any truth to that?

Yes, waxing can make hairs stronger and more resistant for some because of blood flow stimilated to repair the hair each time. That just means that some hairs may be more resistent and can take several passes before they’re completely dead.

Plus, waxing/tweezing may result in distorted hair, which in turn tend to be trickier to treat.

yep, I’ve noticed that the few areas that in 9 sessions of electro have stayed static and changeless, mostly, were those that I commonly plucked. Also unfortunetly the same ones who love to go ingrown :frowning:

Talk to your electrologist. They may need to be treated with the blend method for example. Or just need a bit more power.

thanks, will do. She has a good machine (Apilus SX 500) but has just been using Thermolysis thus far.

thank you all for the answers
