Does dying hair improve results?

I read that if you wax and apply carbon dye to the empty follicles before lasering, it improves the laser results. Has anyone ever tried this? Does the laser target the follicle or the root? I asked my laser lady and she doesn’t do this method. I have fairly light hairs (until I’m in the sunlight), so my results aren’t very good. I am going broke chasing after hairs that won’t stop growing back!

most say that these dying products are ineffective. the roots need to be there to be killed. i would try finding a Comet laser to target lighter hairs.

Thanks for the response. I’ll have to do my homework on the Comet. I’m not sure what type of laser they use, but since I go to a doctor’s office, I figured they’d know what they are doing. It seems as long as I keep giving them my money, they are happy to take it whether or not the treatments work for me.

If you have light hair, the Comet is at least worth a look. Mantaray has had good results with it. The Comet is a combination of diode laser and RF.

My practitioner says that the dyes, as in Meladine, are not effective.

unfortunately, just because they are a doctor does not mean they have any hair removal knowledge or laser hair removal experience at all. someone who used to be an electrogist would be much better. good thing you realize it now before you waste too much money <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> a very good experienced tech will be able to achieve best results no matter which machine they have…AND those usually tend to have the best machines anyway.
