Does anyone know??

I was wondering if anyone knew what type of IPL device Hair Today Gone Tomorrow used? I actually had good luck with whatever device they used. Since they went out of business I’ve been having trouble finding a laser that works on me.

It’s not about finding a laser that works. It’s more about finding a clinic that knows how to use their machine well. It can be the best machine, but won’t work if they don’t set appropriate settings, which is a common occurrence.

Are you looking to treat the same area? Is the hair coarse? What have you tried and at what settings?

I’ll have to get the settings for this machine since they’re new settings. I had a bunch of different technicians treat me with IPL and no matter who did it I had 100% shedding. So I figure it was a good machine for me. With IPL I had my hands done, upper lip, and in between the eyebrows done. My hands probably only need 2 maintenance treatments per year. Not too much there. Upper lip I’m finishing a package deal I had with the gentle lase. I am seeing results there. I get 100% shedding and my hair is really thin. It just doesn’t last long enough. This clinic only is allowing me to come in every 12 weeks but my hair slowly starts to grow back around 6 weeks. In between my eyebrows I don’t really touch even though there are a few hairs. I can eventually do that with electrolysis. The rest of me is being treated at a clinic with the lightsheer duet and its not really having an effect on me. I figure I’ll try a clinic with gentle lase since that is working on my fine upper lip hair. If it will do that it should do the rest of me which is more coarse. I figure iffor some reason the gentle lase fails I’d try IPL as a last resort. But only if I can find the same machine that was previously used on me. I just don’t know what it is :frowning:

It sounds to me like your using laser/ipl as a substitute for waxing almost.

I had 5 arm treatments, including hands and fingers. All the hair would shed every time and during treatments (spaced 12-15 weeks apart) it would seem as though there would be a reduction in the hands and fingers. But since I have stopped, it’s mostly all come back, which is what I expected as the hair is too fine for laser (she did it for free so I wasn’t going to say no).

Just because the hair is shedding it’s not a given that it’s being permanently destroyed. And after all, that is the purpose of going through laser treatments.

Maintenance treatments would be for new coarse hairs that develop in the treated areas in the years after laser. If I have what has come back on my hands treated again, that’s not a maintenance treatment.

If the hair sheds, but then comes back, your hair is not coarse enough as you also state. That means that it’s dark enough to attract enough energy to make it shed, but it’s not coarse enough to absorb enough heat to disable it permanently.

Well not for me. Waxing only lasts at most 6 days. In certain areas I’ll wax and hairs pop up a day or 2 later. I know its not the same hairs but still. It is really hard for me to keep my hair away. Even when I shave it shows up 12 hours later and my skin can hardly take shaving. A couple of areas I can’t even get smooth when I do shave. I’d do anything to have the hairs gone for weeks at a time.

Hi, I don’t mean in how long it lasts, but rather a temporary removal method.

“I get 100% shedding and my hair is really thin. It just doesn’t last long enough.”

If it was working, it wouldn’t be a problem of lasting long enough. Some people don’t mind this and having a few treatments every year to stay hair free for a good part of it. Otherwise, electrolysis is the way to go.

If waxing only lasts 6 days, waxing is being done incorrectly and the hair is being broken off half way instead of being pulled out with the root. Or in the worst case scenario, your hormones are crazy and need serious intervention  But I would say it’s likely the former.

I had natua lase hair removal done about 10 treatment but all the hair came back in 1 1/2 month later
