Did my laser hair removal work?

I’m new to this forum and started getting laser hair removal treatments last year on my chin. I was told I need 6-8 treatments on this area for best results. The first four went well–they used an alexandrite laser and hair fell out within 10 days after treatment. I was hair free until new growth about a month after treatment. Then I switched to a new clinic closer to home, that uses a diode laser. I’ve had 2 treatments. After these treatments, only about 20% of treated hair is falling out. I have to keep shaving the rest and am never hair free. I’m trying to decide if the diode laser is working for me. The clinic insists their laser is the best of the best and I need to stick with it. Nobody seems to be able to answer my question:

Should treated hair always fall completely out if a treatment is successful? Or does it sometimes stay rooted but won’t grow back later? I truly appreciate all comments and help!!!

You should get complete shedding. Shedding doesn’t mean that that follicle has been permanently disabled but it is a requirement. If the hair doesn’t shed, then no chance.

That’s what I thought! Unfortunately, I bought a 4-treatment package the first day and the clinic won’t refund any of the money. I feel like they won’t give me straight answers, so as not to admit it didn’t work for me. Frustrating!!

As far as I’ve read, diode is a good laser and suitable for I-III skin types. What is your skin type?
Most probably, the settings used were too low. If you decided to finish the package bought, you should ask for higher settings. Another reason for poor shedding can be that the technician missed a lot of spots. Yes, it is a scam to get people have as many treatments as possible.
