Can someone please tell me, when a hair slides out nicely and you dont feel a pluck during electrolysis, does this always mean that the electrologist has destroyed a hair successfully or is this not necessarily true?
Always? No.
The Overwhelming Majority Of The Time? Yes
no, not always. the hair could have been in the wrong phase of growth or it could have been damaged, but not killed. otherwise, yes.
So does this work the opposite way and mean that if you do feel a plucking sensation the hair could still have been detroyed?
Now you are getting it.
in some cases, a hair has begun the shedding process, and yet the treatment works anyway. You would feel the bulb pop out as it is larger than the follicle opening, and still the hair will never come back. In this case as described, the only other alternative is that the hair comes back thinner and weaker next time.
One is more likely to feel something with the newer computerized electrolysis machines, as they are designed to give a more focused treatment, and therefore less damage to the surrounding skin, and that way one can have lots more situations where the large bulb has had no pathway of destruction blasted above it to make release easier.
I find that the place where the most instances of bulbs larger than the pore occurs on the upper lip.
Now I’m confused…as I’ve had treatments when I’ve felt hair coming out, not a plucking sensation, but more a slight tug. I’ve also had a slight tugging sensation when I pulled hair myself … sometimes I haven’t felt a thing! So I’m left with a dilema…how can I tell if I’m getting good epilations? My hair is blonde and slightly excelerated vellus hair.

Well, some hairs will release much easier and some with resistance as James stated. Due to the bulb being thicker than the opening. You will def. know the difference between a pluck and gentle tugging to extact the hair out. I usually gauge the treatment by looking at the hair after treatment. Mine usually look a little singed, and the full clear sheath at the bottom of the hair is entact, that is a good sign. Oh and the bulb doesn’t have that tacky or sticky feel to it where it sticks to everything if it would have been plucked.
