design suggestion

I’m putting the finishing touches on my table. It’s based on a dental chair (electric base, dental lamp and pole-mounted machine). What I’m illustrating here are the “swing arms” I made. These have a full range of “swing” and are most useful. Mostly, I use these for my elbows: to rest them comfortable while I work. If I’m doing legs or bikini area, the patient sits in a reverse position and puts her legs out on the “swing arm” pads.

These adjustable arms can be made for almost any table. If you are interested in making them yourself, you may PM me and I will send you photos and instructions on how to make them. They really save your back and neck and are inexpensive to make. (My table-top, I made myself out of a surfboard blank … but your don’t need to go to that extreme.)

I think this is certainly a complimentary table specific for electrolysis care. I like that knees can go under the table from anywhere. I am in need of a table and I am pretty handy with tools. How many pounds will your table hold and what is the base of the table made of ? Is it adjustable (height-wise). The posi-flex apparatus for elbows and arms was pretty comfortable to use, but I like the tidy look of your arm supports. Does it swivel?

Hey Dee,
The base is heavy steel and goes up and down (way up and way down), the “worm drive” (my base) is a better set up than hydraulic (that can start to leak). The table has supported over 250 pounds … very strong.

Yes, you can move your knees under the thing and no table legs get in your way. I still have a couple more things to do … but so far it’s okay. The padded arms move and swivel in almost any position. They can be put together in the middle so a patient can put his face down without turning his neck (for doing the back of the neck). I can send you more photos for a do-it-yourself, if you wish. The only drawback is it should be bolted to the floor … not really a big deal.

Most excellent is the dental lamp: $2,000 but worth it.
