DermRays and CurrentBody DIY Diode Lasers - Anybody tried either of 'em?

I just came across two FDA approved brands of DIY Diode Lasers and was wondering if anyone had tried either of them and what results they had.

The first of these two brands is DermRays. They offer three such products, a lower power (21 Joule) (the V4S) and a higher power (27 Joule or 13.4 Joule/cm2) (the V8S) 810 nm diode laser hair removers. They also offer one at a different wavelength over 1000 nm for type 5 and 6 skin tones.

I read a ton of reviews on the company and their products (most reviews were on the V8S) on TrustPilot.com. Most reviews were pretty good, a few unhappy customers, but it seems they have a 90-day satisfaction guarantee refund policy and reasonably good customer service. A lot of the reviewers said they were getting positive results but none of the reviewers had been using the product long enough to get permanent results on 100% of the area they were trying to treat. A number did say they had spots where nothing was growing back though. Here’s the link to the trustpilot review page for DermRays:

The other device I came across is the CurrentBody. A link to their device webpage on their Canadian website is below. (Change the .ca in the below link to .com and you’ll get their US website.)

Their device is quite a bit more expensive than DermRays. It took quite a bit of digging to find it but in their product manual that you can download it says the max fluence output of their device is 7.2 Joules/cm. I don’t think that’s enough is it?

At any rate, I’m wondering if anybody has had any experience with either of these products or knows someone who has? What’s the skinny on 'em?

These devices are intentionally underpowered to meet safety regulations for home use. Enough said.
