Dental Fillings & Laser

During the of zapping my jaw area the other day, I experienced a very sharp nasty pain in my mouth. Apparently, the laser went right through my cheek and consequently, a filling I have absorbed it.

I remedied the problem by making like a blow fish. Kind of funny when I think about it, but, if you are like me and have a few of those old silver fillings from childhood, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to let your tech know about them in advance.

Another helpful option is to put rolled cotton pieces or white paper towel or tissue in your mouth by those teeth. That way you can relax your cheek during treatment, they can press down with the handpiece, and if there’s enough material, most of the light will be scattered before it reaches your filling.

Well that definitely sounds like a much better idea, I am going to try that! Thanks Andrea
