Hi! I had the microflash done today! My tech said she thought the hair came out easier and she liked it. She just wants to make sure I will have no skin reactions. I haven’t had any visible signs of electrolysis on me, except for a few bumps. It is not as painful as people say…let’s just hope it’s as effective as you say!!
Question, when she was done some hairs had no bulbs at the end? Or they were too small to see, but I think no bulbs. Should I worry about ingrowns? Thanks for your advice!
So, the way you describe this, it sounds like you have been seeing this electrologist and she has an epilator that is capable of doing microflash, but has just now tried this modality at your request. Am I close??
Microflash is effective. It’s never about the modality, as all modalities lead to permanent hair removal whether it be straight galvanic, blend, manual thermolysis, flash thermolysis, microflash thermolysis of picoflash thermolysis. It’s always about the human being setting the epilator for the proper energy amd timing levels and inserting a proper size probe into individual hair follicles, correctly, when a hair is in the anagen stage.
No bulbs? Hopefully, there were bulbs, but they were too small and white to see. With any modality, you want to see the whole hair structure from stem to stern.
I think if most electrologists familiarized themselves with modalities like microflash, they would be so very pleased with what they discover. A full service electrologist should be able to switch back and forth easily between all modalities, if they so desire.

You are correct in your assesment. I have seen her 3 times, this time she tried microflash. She says she uses it, but not always. I don’t feel her tweezing so I feel great about that. I have had electrologists who tweeze! My only concern is no bulbs??? I am not sure if maybe these were hairs that were also hit by the laser hair removal tech since I am doing that in an area near there?? I think she is good so time will tell. I am just worried about ingrowns!!
