Dead Hairs Not Shedding !

I had treatment with the Gentle Lase on my full arms just over a month now but there was absoloutely no shedding whatsoever, not even 1 hair. All the hairs were zapped succesfully and their dead but their still stuck deep in my skin and appear as black dots all over my arm, people who seen my arms have asked me if Ive shaved my arms because they look like stubble.

Just like an iceberg only the tip of the hair is showing as a black dot and %99 of the actual hair is still stuck deep under my skin, my whole arms are covered in thousands of black dots, when I squeeze it a really long hair comes out, but then the squeezing damages my skin and leaves scars on my arm, Ive made the mistake of going on a squeezing rampage and now my arms look horrible.

I been exfoliating heaps with an AHA exfoliation product with beads and exfoliation sponge and mosturising after but it hasn’t helped, I know they will eventually grow out or get burn in the next treatment but I’m just annoyed its taking sooooo long.

Tend Skin or a similar product may help to work the hairs out.

STOP HURTING YOURSELF!

Thanks for the tip, I will give the product you mentioned a trial.

I am of a light olive complexion with dark black thick coarse hair, If I remember correctly I was treated on 16 as setting after I had requested it to be dropped down a notch from 18 due to the pain.

I would give your skin a good two weeks to heal. Just wear long sleeves to prevent yourself from feeling the urge to attack them.

Then, try a Biore strip to see if that works. They’re designed to clear blackheads, but might work on these the same way. Do a test patch since the strips are basically glue.

Otherwise they’ll work themselves free eventually over 4-6 weeks in my experience. It’s annoying but it will get better after each treatment since the hairs should become lighter and less prone to “fusing” to the follicle like this.

You might want to visit a dermatologist if you can’t wait.

Scrubbing gently in the shower with a soft man-made brush can help speed up the process. Loofah’s can grow bacteria, so I wouldn’t use them to exfoliate. These singed hairs (pepper spots)are stuck in the follicle and will be burnt off at your next treatment if they are still present. Mostly, they will just shed eventually on their own before the next treatment. Help this along with gentle exfoliation.

Amen to stop hurting yourself.
