Day of despair

Today for the first time I have got razor bumps its awful and upsetting. But Ive read through this wonderful site and picked up a few good tips.

It just made me think how ironic it all is when I shave more than my husband and two sons!! For me its at least twice a day, and it still “My Secret” and I would die of shame if they knew.

Some of the products you all speak about like Tend Skin for example isnt on sale in UK which is a shame, so Im always experimenting with new things for my very senstive skin. I like shaving oil best, followed by antiseptic cream if I look spotty.

I have ridiculous thoughts. I was watching a Tom Hanks film the other night, the one where he gets stranded on a desert island, and when they find him he’s grow tons of hair!! LOL and i just thought “That would be me, I would look like a man” Or a more bizarre thought…if I ever got held hostage (God forbid) I would have a moustache and beard by the time I got rescued! Its insane I know but what crazy thoughts run through my head at nights !

If I lived in Victorian England I would never have been un employed, I would have been The Bearded Lady !!

I hope this has made some of you smile, but its how I feel, its miserable having to shave every day as you all know.

Thanks Andrea for this wonderful site, and thanks to every guy and girl for all the wonderful tips and tricks and info that you all so willingly share xxx

One more thing, can anyone suggest a good quality face make up that hides blemishes and spots/stubble etc ? Dont care how much it costs either !!

God bless you all. Jemima UK.

That was hilarious, and to be honest, I have had thoughts of the same kind… like… what would happen if I had to get surgery all of a sudden, for whatever reason, and spend too many days in the hospital… who would remove my body hair???
As for foundations, I can’t give you many recommendations because I barely use foundation at all, but I have heard that with Max Factor Panstick, you can easily adjust the level of coverage you need or want.
Check the board www.icompact.com
There are people there who know a huge deal about that stuff (to the point that I get lost with all that info!) and are very helpful.

Jemima,

You can order TendSkin from The Garden Pharmacy in Covent Garden, London.

www.garden.co.uk

You can purchase online, order by phone, or pop into the shop. On the website, do a search for TendSkin and all the TendSkin product line will appear (you can’t find it simply by browsing the catalog).

I have always had very good and secure service from The Garden.

Best of luck,

I have the same types of problems and I use it. It’s VERY helpful. BTY- I use covergirl powder over it for a tot. natural finish! I wish you the best of luck!

Oh, I forgot to mention that I have crazy thoughts along the very same lines as yours! It seems like a lot of people with that problem do.
BTY- Laser Hair Removal may not comp. rid you of your prob. (results vary widely) but if you can afford to you may want to give it a try. It has helped me a lot!! A well exp. Dr. however is a very wise choice.

Jemima:
I too have had those thoughts of being stranded without a razor and thinking of ways to shave i.e a sharp shell

Don’t let it get you down. Why hide it from your husband or sons? I was shaving my moustache every day by the time I was fifteen. My husband knows that. So do my sons. Nowadays (I’m 49) my chin needs to be shaved too. OK, most women don’t have that amount of facial hair, but I do and it’s “part of the package” they get with me. And for what it’s worth, since I have male-type facial hair growth I use a men’s-type electric shaver. And I’ll happily shave in front of the males of the family. I couldn’t stand the strain of trying to keep it a secret, nor would I really want to.
