... dark red hair?

Hello everyone!

I had attempted laser several years ago on my bikini area, where I have medium/dark coarse red hair (and fair skin). They used the Aurora laser and told me that it was “new technology that works on red and blond hair”. Well, after 8 treatments and lots of wasted $$, there was NO DIFFERENCE!

Recently I was told by a lady who works at a laser clinic that they use the Apogee laser, and that it is …guess what?.. “new technology that works on red and blond hair.” Needless to say I am very sceptical. However, maybe I should give it another try? What do you all think? Are there really lasers out there that would work on my hair type?

Keep your skeptitism intact. There are no lasers or IPL’s that treat blond, red, white, clear hairs. You need electrolysis. Find someone that uses modern equipment and good magnification and lighting.

The reason I still have a glimmer of hope for the laser option is that the hair really is DARK red… like, a brownish red. Is it still a no-go?

The only way to find out if your dark red hair has enough pigment is to have them test spot the area first. It should be free. If the hair sheds within 2-3 weeks, you have a chance. If not, you need electrolysis.
