Cynosure Apogee Elite??

I have cancelled my appointment at the IPL place thanks to the info I’ve found here.

I found an Alexandrite that is a reasonable distance from me. It’s actually a Alexandrite/Yag. They use a Cynosure Apogee Elite. Is this a good option? As good as the GentleLase that’s recommended frequently? I have no idea on pricing yet but would this be preferrable over a Diode for a Type II even if the price difference were substantial?

Thanks!

This is a very good machine. Go in for a free consultation and test patch and let us know what settings they want to use and your skin type (ask for joules, spot size, and pulse width being used).

Btw, try to keep all your posts in one thread so it’s easy to follow.

Sorry I posted it in a new thread since the old one was headed with IPL and I had abandoned that line of treatment as a consideration. Sorry for the confusion. If the moderators want to merge the threads that’s fine with me.

No worries. Just keep your posts here now.

Great! UGHH Back to the drawing board. I just looked up the Dr. on RateMD that would be doing the procedures at the place I’m looking into going to that has this machine. They are terrible:

I can totally vouch for the place being impossible to contact too. I’ve tried again today to get a hold of someone to make inquires and no luck and they have not returned my phone calls.

Maybe the place with the Apex 800 Diode is my best bet but I didn’t like how small the head was. That’s a lot of zaps!

Wow, those reviews are pretty bad.

The problem with a small spot size is not just the time it takes. The impact of the joules is decreased, so they have to up them a lot to compensate. Also, there is more of a chance of patchiness.

What city are you near?

Well the closest really big city I’m near is Toronto, Ontario but that is too far so I’m looking more into areas East of Toronto like Oshawa/Whitby/Ajax/Pickering. I’m in the middle of nowhere and smaller cities closeby are Lindsay 30 mins and Peterborough 1 hour. This place was in Oshawa but 2 days later and still not even a phone call back so screw em LOL

I’m still searching and haven’t found another place with Alexandrite laser. Boy this is tough.

This place seems to have a Coolglide Yag, which is fine for coarse hair. http://orchidmedispa.ca/medical.html

Are you also calling places besides only looking online? Many do not have websites, especially if they’re in smaller cities.

They don’t say what they use, but you can try calling this place and asking: http://www.beautybeyond.ca/laser.php and this one http://www.angelasesthetics.ca/

Like I mentioned previously, the entire treatment takes 15 mins and you only go once every 8-12 weeks. So considering the investment you’re making, it’s worth going a bit out of your way for the best, even if it’s in Toronto.
