CPE or is just AEA member certified enough?

I am beginning to think about electrolysis and was wondering is choosing an AEA member electrologist enough, or should the definately be CPE - certified. I live in southern Massachusetts, and would love to find some one close who is experienced and recommended. Also, should the electrologist be able to do all three methods so one is not limited? Which method is best for dark course female facial hair? Any advice would be appreciated.

CEH,

Initials are just initials. It is comforting for clients to know that those initials represent standards, but they don’t measure skill, kindness or open-mindedness about newer technology. There are many great electrologists sitting in their offices everyday removing hair skillfully, quickly and with minimal skin reaction who do not have their CPE and the same is true for those that have a CPE behind their name.

James Walker and Mike Bono no longer have CPE behind their name and they are mini-gods at what they do. I am a very humble person, so I’ll throw myself into the magician category for giving people great electrolysis care. I know how to “kill” the damn hair, too, and I never had a CPE . Sorry for cursing. So, the point is, get as many consults as you can. Go in with a list and observe. Get a short treatment and observe. You will find where you need to be after you put it all together .

Some of us do know how to do all three methods, but some are genius’s at doing one modality well. All modalities work. Personally, I am doing one of three thermolysis modalities or a mixture of both depending on variables presented to me. I use a couple of blend modlities maybe 5% of time, if that even, but I want that option in my toolbox. Most electrologists do not need to do galvanic only. It is slower than the other methods, but highly effective.

Best method for dark, COARSE facial hair is the method your electrologist uses with the most skill. Many electrologist still say the best is blend, but I have not seen that to be true with the high tech Epilator, probes and special techniques that I have learned to use.
