Hello!
I want to thank everyone here who has told their experiences with LHR. You have helped me a lot to learn about lasers for hair removal.
Following advices here I’ve decided to try true alexandrite lasers instead of IPLs.
Three months ago, I had had three treatments with Elos (which is an IPL). Although most hair shed, 3 months after my last treatment, I don’t like how my skin looks. It looks as if I had a shadow, it looks as shaved, but the hairs don’t grow nor fall out. I would much prefer the hairs to grow so I could wax them out. That way I wouldn’t have the shadow, nor the open pores without hair I was left with. Do you think that in some months this shadow and these pores will disappear by themselves?
I asked that question in 3 clinics that do LHR. In one they said the open pores would go by themselves, in another they said that they just were natural colored follicles (the thing is that, before IPL, when I just used to wax my legs I never had any “colored follicles”; my skin was perfectly smooth, the problem was that that lasted only 2 weeks). In another place they said that the open pores were caused by plucking the hair. Here again: when I waxed my legs I was never left with open pores. So, I think that in those places they did not know what they were talking about. And perhaps nobody can assure how my skin is going to evolve.
So I was happy when I finally found a place in my city where they have the alexandrite laser GentleLASE. I’ll have my first appointment next week.
But I’m worried. Could a good laser repair what a not-so-good IPL did? Could my previous treatments with the IPL affect the results I could achieve with the laser? Would it have been better (in terms of results, I know the answer in terms of money)to have never had any treatment with IPL? Are the open pores (open follicles without hair) and the subcutaneous hairs (that look like colored follicles) going to fade away on their own in some months? Could a good laser help in the fading away?
Another thing that worries me is that, the clinic with GentleLASE I found, in its English version says: “You won’t believe being always like just shaved!” (!) OH MY GOD (!), that’s exactly the opposite of what I want, I want to be always like just waxed, NOT shaved! But perhaps it was just a mistranslation. Here, you can see it if it interests you
But, in a nutshell, my main question is: could my previous treatments with IPL negatively affect my results (let’s hope good results, please!) with laser?
Thanks again for all your help!
