consultation at Romeo and Juliet NYC questions.

I had my consultation today at Romeo and Juliet. I went for legs and full bikini. I know they’re considered one of the best in NYC, but I’m not sure how I felt about my consultation.

I have fair skin and coarse/dark hair with TONS of ingrowns. They told me that my leg treatments should be 6 weeks apart to start, and when I mentioned that I had read they should be 8-12 weeks, the technician said that they do them every 6 weeks. The second technician agreed. After a few treatments, they go up to 7-10 weeks apart. Should I be suspicous? They quoted me 4000 for 6 sessions of leg and full bikini with 6 free cleanups at 2-3 weeks in case of any missed spots. Does this seem reasonable? I know that 3 weeks isn’t necessary enough time, but she said this was usually for stubborn hairs.

She said that “any of the lasers would work for me” due to my optimal skin/hair combo, but that she would use the apogee elite. I’ll admit I can’t exactly remember the settings but I believe there was a 16 in there, and she said it would go higher at my next session. She said that after the first session I wouldn’t experience a hair loss exacty but my hair would grow back much thinner. She also said I could expect 90-95% reduction after 6 sessions and if not, they would do all further sessions at half price.

Any thoughts? I’ve heard such good things about Romeo and Juliet, but what she told me seemed to contradict some of the things I’ve read on this forum.

6 weeks for first treatment only is not too bad since they’re increasing spacing later. either way, these are approximates and you should go by what you’re seeing. so get treatments after you see enough hair come in to justify a treatment etc. Apogee Elite has an alex setting which is good for light skin. 16 joules is probably good to start as long as it’s increased later and your skin can handle it.

i always recommend to check out several clinics. compare your experiences and pick whichever you are most comfortable with. i know that most people on this forum have been very happy with this clinic, but you should make sure you’re comfortable going wherever you decide.
