Confused about Stimulated hair growth

Hello all
i still can’t quite understand this topic, and i’ve read so much stuff on this forum that it has become so confusing now.

I’m about to go in for my 4th treatment(lower arms) in a few hours and all this stimulated hair growth business is making me want to cancel.

So how exactly does stimulated growth happen? does it only occur in some people?

I as of yet have not noticed anything new hairs growing in my upper arm/shoulders/back etc.

How can it be prevented?

Thanks to all.

  • It doesn’t happen in everyone’s case. It’s more likely on people with sparse fine hair and people with darker skin, or both AND on certain areas (upper arms, shoulders, women’s face). Low settings can contribute to it too when either or both of the previous factors are present.

  • If you haven’t seen it yet, then you’re likely fine. However, you shouldn’t be treating hair that’s not dark dense and coarse (all of the above). Otherwise, besides risking stimulated growth, you’re also wasting money. Plus, you won’t be able to tell if you have more growth until you stop treatments for at least 4 months or so and let all the hair actually grow out.

  • The biggest question you should be asking is if you’re seeing shedding of all treated hair after every treatment.
