Hey! So for a bit more context I’m a trans MTF woman, I recently had my first electrolysis session 5 days ago, it was SOO PAINFUL, I’m concerned my technician over treated the area way too much, I bled in certain areas, and I had a lot of plasma coming out the first 3 days.
This is how I look now after 5 days, area is still tender, a bit warm and itchy and stings a bit still, I’m scared I’m going to get scars on my face due to the over treatment:
Is this normal? I’m quite scared of possible Post Inflammation Erythema or scarring as there’s some deep visible pits…Right now I’m only applying a bit of Aquaphor and washing my face with cold water, because it’s the only thing it can tolerate rn. Any advice or help is more than welcome! <3
If the follicles were leaking blood and plasma and it’s still tender after 5 days, that’s a very clear indication that you were overtreated. The overtreatment would have been visible as it was happening, so the fact that your electrologist allowed this is concerning. I hope you can find someone else to treat you.
I’ve seen worse outcomes that have healed back to normal. You should be prepared for it to take many months to completely resolve as your skin will need time to deal with the hyperpigmentation and wound contraction. You can continue with a gentle skincare routine, but I would avoid any harsh active ingredients for a few weeks more. There’s nothing specific you need to do since it should resolve on its own.
please change therapist, that one is terrible! please use silicon gel & sheet to help minimise scarring.
Give your skin time (few months) before u resume treatment with proper skilled therapist/electrologist
