i met with an electrolysis. she has received 11 5 out of 5 reviews on yelp. and when i met her she was very informative, clean great office/location. standard pricing and i felt very comfortable with her.
the onnly thing is, is after being on this forum for a couple months, ive realized that people prefer computerized to footswitch electrolysis. and she does footswitch.
she said she uses it because she can control the heat/electricity.
what is the biggest difference? should i look for someone else even though she is very experienced and i felt comfortable with her?
No, I wouldn’t. There are many ways to perform electrolysis and the end result is permanent hair removal with or without using a footswitch. Using a computerized epilator with an autosensor feature is less fatiguing for the electrologist, especially if he or she is inserting into hair follicles at the rate of 10,000 or more a day. Autosensor mode increases the speed factor, as well.
I would not give up this electrologist if I were you. No way! I like computerization and no foot switch, but it is not the only way to to remove hair.
I agree with Dee about staying with her if you are comfortable with her.
There are pros and cons to using the two options. None of them are issues that the client should be concerned. The differences have nothing to do with controlling heat and/or electricity, but I certainly understand her concern about that - because I also had that “contol” concern before going with the automatic control.
Using the footswitch allows the electrologist to turn the current on when they are ready. (When they step on the pedal.) Using the automatic will result in the current turning on 1.5 seconds (or whatever time is pre-determined by the electrologist) after the probe is inserted into the follicle. If the insertion is not perfect, then unwanted effects can occur.
Control of “heat/electricity” has nothing to do with the footswitch. The epilator has dials or buttons that set the intensity and timing. Electrologist and epilators vary greatly in how they most efficiently and successfully treat the hair follicle. Some use quick timing and high intensity; others do slow timing and low intensity; and all options in between!
If you like the results of your electrologists treatments, then stay with her.
