For an area assorted with coarse and fine hairs, is it possible to attack only coarse ones using LHR? I mean, by keeping the fluence low enough, fine hairs do not absorb as much energy to destroy the follicle, whereas at the same energy level coarse hairs are burned?
If that is reasonable, what would be the typical fluences?
One of the nice side effects of laser is that, by its nature, thicker more coarse hairs are already more likely to absorb more light than fine hair.
You’d have to talk to your laser technician to find out which laser they’re using to determine a suitably low fluence. Test patches in a discreet area might be a good idea too.
My results basically varied by turning coarse, dark hairs into lighter, finer hairs. Some turned tiny and invisibly fine, others more noticeable, so knowing how a particular follicle will react isn’t an exact science I think.
True. Hair removal/reduction is not an exact science. As hard as people may try to secure answers from their practitioners about success outcome, how long or how much it will cost questions, we cannot. I would think that people would be thrilled to get a certain percentage of reduction with laser and live life with finer, lighter hair. Those hair structures are much easier to manage than thick, deep, dark hairs.
