Clinics in London - Experiences?

Hello

I am thinking about laser hair removal for the sides of my face and have found three clinics that I might want to go:

  1. Harley Medical Group
  2. Courthouse
    3.Renewmedica

Would anyone who has had treatment at any of these places be kind enough to share their experiences with me? Alternatively, if you know of any better clinics, please let me know!

I have type IV skin.

Many thanks

Hi,

I am also type IV and have had treatments at RM Oxford Circus.

You can read about my experience in the link in my sig.

Treatments have gone well and I’m very satisfied, although I have found it really does depend on the technician doing them. My usual aesthetician has taken a break for traveling but she recommended who I can have in her absence. Also, their pricing structure used to be very clear, now it’s more complicated but if you can work out what you will probably need and go during off-peak times, you can save a fair bit.

Basically I am satisfied but you do need to be fairly on the ball and speak up so they don’t take advantage of you. I think it’s the same at most places. i.e. my usual aesthetician was very thorough and hardly missed patches, the one time i had someone else, there were lots of missed patches as she drew the boxes too big. If this happens don’t be afraid to complain and/or ask for someone else.

Please be very careful about treating the sides of your face. In fact I would go as far as to say dont do it.

Have a good look around the board before you make a decision

Oh Gosh, missed that.

Completely agree with Guiadnce. I would not risk laser on the sides of the face. Go for electrolysis instead.

Oh really? I never even thought about that. It looks like I need to do more research…

Thank you for the advice!

Are you male or female? There are lots of potential issues associated with treating the face. If you’re female, it’s definitely a no-no since most women’s hair is not coarse enough for laser to affect. If you’re male, there is some rick of patchiness. So it depends on what result you’re looking for. Usually men are looking for a bit of a reduction that involves some precision and shaping on that area, so laser is not a good option for that. Electrolysis is the only method that will give you that.

Thanks LAgirl. I am female. The hair on the side of my face is similar to the hair on my head (black and wiry). It’s mixed in with the finer, softer hairs so there is a mixture there.

I usually epilate or wax the side of my face but I am getting sick of having to do it all the time.

I only found this website yesterday after initial google searches. I think I will try and do more research tonight.

It’s funny how I have loads of hair on my head, barely any on my eyebrows but loads on the side of my face. :frowning:

Electrolysis is the way to go for you. Laser can induced MORE growth when touching those finer hairs.

I totally agree!

Hi,

So laser is really not recommended on the face?

How about wax? Is that better? I wax my hair atleast 2-3x per month because my hair just re-grow very quickly. I am a female and have lost of small tiny hair in my face, ears and a mustache as well. It is annoying, but lately I noticed there are small blisters in under my eyes and red thingy below and around my lip [that is itchy especially when I wash my face - i use kojic soap by the way]

As of the moment my only option is waxing since lasers are just so expensive :frowning:

any alternatives that you know guys?

Thanks a lot.

If the hair is not coarse, you can only remove it permanently with electrolysis. Laser only works on coarse dense growth.
