I’ve been getting treatments for 45min-1hour on each side of the face for very fine, dense hair every 1-2 weeks since March '09.
Although there is a significant thinning of the treated areas, I have yet to have a full clearance of the area as many of you describe.
My question is, is it necessary to get a full clearance of the area in order for treatment to be effective, or is it ok that I am getting an overall thinning each session?
If there are thousands and thousands of thin blond hairs on the side of your face, it is more realistic to aim for a good thinning of the longest hairs. Ignore the smallest, lightest hairs as those are good hairs and makes a woman look natural as opposed to looking like a plastic manican (fake human). Your treatment will still be effective with selectively choosing the more noticeable hairs.
If you have a lot of hair, blend will work just fine, but you are better off getting treatment with that lovely Apilus Platinum with the electrologist working in the PicoFlash mode. If she/he uses the auto sensor mode and sets the timing anywhere between .4 -.7 auto delay that would be completely awesome! I have had my sensor delay as low as .2 at times when I was physically having a very good hand/eye coordination day. If your electrologist has great vision wear and a great light source, then you are really going to be happy with the progress.
Your electrologist is unique in what she/he can do. Allow her to do this her way. She is in charge of doing this safely and completely. Let us know how the Apilus Platinum thermoysis treatments compare to the blend that you have had.
So my first treatment with the Apilus Platinum (using the thermolysis method) went pretty well I think. As compared to my previous treatments using blend, I noticed HUGE differences between the two machines and methods.
My first practitioner has all credentials one could ask for; high praise from other electrologists, past president of the southern california AEA, and speaking at ongoing training conventions. I trusted her with my skin, but I always received lots of scabbing after treatments (which sloughed within 7 days) But who wants to walk around with scabs on their face for 7 days?! But I grit my teeth and beared it for about 5 months of treatment. To her credit, she did get the offending hairs cleared, and now it’s me just nit-picking.
So in my quest of nit-picking, I found electrologist #2 with the Apilus Platinum. I’ve only received one treatment for 1hr last week. Although it seems as though electro #2 is a bit of a slower mover, her treatment is sooooo comfortable I even fell asleep on her table. Also, i barely had any scabbing after treatment (some suuuper tiny pin sized scabs), which is a huge plus in my book.
So I will keep forging forward with electro #2 for now. In a perfect world I’d combine electro #1’s speed with electro #2’s machine & bed side manner.
I did a facial treatment on an electrolysis colleague last week. Her eyes were bugged out after an hour treatment. She couldn’t believe how comfortable her treatment was. Many clients report that they are so comfortable that they almost fall asleep. The Apilus Platinum is truly a gift to the electrolysis profession. If it used correctly, many compliments will come back to the practitioner. Yes, it is comfortable and skin reaction is so good. It allows the electrologist to move along at good speed if the practitioner takes full advantage of this great epilator. Quality vision wear is a must if one wants to increase their speed. I don’t know what #2 vision set up is like, but maybe that is hindering her.
Thanks for the advice guys. I was leaning towards the same thing.
I had another treatment, and seems like she’s a little more comfortable and moving with a bit more speed and confidence. So I think we’re getting there! Keep you updated.
That’s great! We are all a little gun shy on a new client at first, or at least we should be. She is understanding your skin tolerance better and has found good levels of intensity and timing, most likely. We look forward to your updates.
