Clarblend vs Apilus Pure with Synchro as a client

I just had my back neck hair removed on the same day at 2 different unrelated electrologists. 1/2 of the area using Clareblend "Blend’. The other half using Apilus just "thermolysis’ I guessed cause I didn’t hv to hold the electrode.

                    Clareblend vs Apilus Pure

Speed: Clareblend is slower but still acceptable. Apilus is faster

How did I feel during the procedure: same level of pain but definitely very tolerable; with Apilus I can feel the pain lying deeper

How did I feel after the session: Clareblend --I felt warm & sore sensation with some tightness for few hrs after the session
Apilus – Just mild itch

photos taken after 26 hrs after the session https://photos.google.com/u/1/share/AF1QipMs6TsP15YV7ZJIjnE4gAQWZwf35hnvdcmqTgYLKpuWL-Wq_HB260fBgB7hi2ls2A?key=R0pNTzBmbVpObkNLUWFIcmtqRXA0UTY5Qm9BMndB

26 hrs after the session: Clareblend – I think this therapist’s skill is very bad. She claimed she r teaching electrology in Victoria Uni (no wonder I don’t trust the quality of many Australian beauty schools, but only individual instructors) ; Apilus – As expected

I’m an electrologist myself. I studied 1:1 hand-on training with Trudy Fleming. I’m using Clareblend to treat my models & clients, but I don’t think I have treated anyone this bad! So for me when compare Apilus Pure with Synchro & Clareblend they r just very similar in the sensation during the procedure, but Apilus is faster in treating each follicle. Skin reaction & healing after the treatment should be the same.

Madonna Mia … Clareblend looks bad.

The first picture looks absolutely horrible. It will take a while to heal. Thankfully, its not your face.

Skill. Skill. Skill. Sensation is related to many things and all those things require the use of Skill.

Hey Nora,

I thought I’d weigh in because I’ve had treatments with a Clareblend (using blend modality), newer model, unsure of which one, and the skin reaction is even less than your skin reaction with Apilus treatment. Literally no visible reaction 24 hours post treatment for me.

Interesting.

Nora is the Xcell what you use to do electrolysis?

Hi Seana

I am currently using the following machines: Clareblend Ultrablend 8701, Hinkel Classic and Hinkel UC-2.

But I’m stuck with the speed & I want to be able to treat each follicle within 1-2 seconds. By that I mean hair & inner root sheet can b releasing without force within a sec or 2. I may require further training to know how to use the machine I already have got more efficiently, revise my technique or I may need a new machine. Either my skills or the machine need to b fixed/changed/advanced :>

These are my aim of fluency & speed:

I cant speak to Michaels video (I think he’s using a hinkle machine but not posative of this)

However I would recognize The probeholder that Josepha is using anywhere. Shes using the Instantron Spectrum Elite in this video.
This is to say, that it doesnt matter the machine you are using. These results are not exclusive to the Xcell. Yes learning to use the timing of your machine is pretty important. There’s some guidance to this in the hinkle text if I recall correctly.

I can definitely say the epilation speed you seek is possible with the Xcell, but it is far from your only choice. The Spectrum Elite is about 1/4 the price of an Xcell.

I have an Instantron SS-69 (analog) epilator that I use as a backup machine. It has been custom modified to output more than double the RF output. We’re talking 1960s technology here. To keep up my manual skills, I usually have one or two battle-hardened clients on this epilator any given time. The SS-69 is like flying a 1920s biplane, simple yet challenging, but fun at the same time. Using 1/10 sec (minimum timing) and RF set to max, my SS-69 will kill hairs just as well as the celebrity electrologists have reported in their practices. All without abnormal post-treatment side effects. With coarse terminal hair, I always use a Laurier IBP (the largest that will fit the follicle) and pulse at two to three independent depths within the follicle (like Josefa). My hormone-stable clients are generally completed within 12 months (sometimes less). The end result has nothing to do with the brand of equipment in use. It’s the skill of the electrologist that matters.

We can shortcut that technique description, we’ve given it a name. The Vvariable Depth Technique"

“Variable Depth Technique” - I like that!

Josefa M. Reina video for “Variable Depth Technique”:

I do this ALL the time, most especially with mens beards. These hairs can have root sheaths upwards of 8 or 9 milimeters in length. It becomes necessary to treat all the area, and that is only accomplishable with a variable depth technique and I tend towards a isoblend probe too to give me the widest possible path of destruction.

The setting were wrong, to get this reaction it should have been obvious during the treatment. This isn’t a test between equipments it is a test of skill. This says nothing about the machines at all.

Hi Nora,
I just wanted to say that looking at this now , months later, one thing strikes me, that is why are you using synchro on shallow back hair? I use meloflash or picoflash to great effect on such hairs all the time, synchro I would think might lead to blanching and overtreatment. I’ve used synchro on male course deep chest hairs and even that led to some scabbing, I think with the shallow hairs it’s better to use some of the lower powered modalities.

Dimi I love that video by Josepha. It’s also demonstrating the one handed technique, hear the “click” ?

Seana

I also like that video.
I also use 1 sec fast blend with tapered Ballet probes. In this case we do not need to move the probe to different depth in the follicle and to make 2-3 pulses to cover all the area.

I am a very experienced electrolysist in Melbourne C.b.d . I don’t believe the type of machine is important . It is how the practitioner uses the machine . All machines produce thermolysis , galvanic or both . What amount , how long is one of the important elements . In my opinion The entry into the hair follicle is the probably the most essential element . Regards Sally
