Hey everyone. I’m fairly new to electrolysis and have only had one consultation for assessing my chin hair. I know that electrolysis is the only method accepted as giving permanent results when it comes to hair removal. I have about 150 hairs on each side of my chin that I’m looking to treat. I’ve been told this is a very stubborn area to treat due to dormant hairs being stimulated as a result of androgens. I was wondering if anyone has experienced or treated hairs in this area within the 18-24 month time window and seen a permanent removal of the treated hairs?
Answering this question as a practicing electrologist and speaking for all my colleagues, if I may, the answer is a definite YES. The success rate is 100%, in my practice, if clients comply and follow the advice I give them for the first first six months especially and thereafter until we reach the 18 month mark. Sometimes it takes 24 months if the client has sneaked and tweezed “a little”. As electrologists, WE CANNOT prevent future growth of new hair, so you may need maintenance follow ups for the rest of your life 1-4 times per year?
Go for it, with boldness.
I cant answer as to completing the area, but 4 months in I have no chin hair left and it is on schedule reducing each time I do the chin. I started with a chin that was full and dense.
There are thousands of documented cases like yours that saw completion in a year or a bit more.

I have been treated on this area (actually the whole beard) for the past 16 months. Almost all of it was gone after 8 weeks, but occasional little stragglers pop up though they’re very few and far between.

After (this was actually at the 8-month mark – apparently I didn’t get a direct picture of my chin but this is the best I have): http://oi40.tinypic.com/fvd8ow.jpg
So yes, I didn’t experience any more stubborness in this area than I have in any of the other areas treated
