Chemical Burns

Ok, I’m an idiot! I just used Epilette to do pubic hair and didn’t read the part about not using on genitals, LOL. I am afraid I’ve chemical burned myself and am in pain, bad! What can I do?? How long will this take to heal?? Help!

You need to see a doctor, or go to the emergency room.

If your health care plan is less understanding of anything short of loosing an arm, then you need to run, don’t walk to your nearest vendor of Tea Tree Oil and Aloe Vera Gel.

You should read the back of the package to see if they advise use of anything to neutralize the product, and use that to end the chemical chain reaction. Some chemical potions use Milk to neutralize them in this case.

You also need to keep the area clean and dry for a week. Do nothing that will make you sweat, or rub against the area, or irritatie it in any way. No hot tubes, no swimming for a week.

Call your local Wal-Mart. They usually have Tea Tree Oil by the pharmacy, near the calamine lotions and vitamins.

OMG, what a bummer.

Yes it surely would of been better if you read the instructions.
However, if you go to the hospital they will treat it as a chemical burn or if you choose you can use aloe and leave that area alone until healed and yes it will heal.

Actually, you can use a deplalitory on gential areas but the need to go extremely slow approach is allways, as in allways required.

First you start out with a small area and very short time and see you raction, then apply on a larger area with a little more time. If all is well then apply on the area but still short time and so on.

Gud Luck

Ok, well I’m still alive, but I learned my lesson! I actually had used a different type of cream before and never had a problem but bought the epilette and NEVER AGAIN! I had one fairly small area that was inflamed and red and hurt soooo bad, but I found the tea tree oil and applied antibiotics and hydrocortisone cream for 2 days. The pain is much better, there is some skin damage but I think it should be healed within a week. Thanks to both of you for your help and suggestions.

It is a pleasure. Not won’t you consider a permanent solution, so you never have to go through this again?

If I could, I would do it for you, but I doubt we are close.
