Can't decide. Electrolysis vs laser for underarms

Hello all,
I’ve definitely been bit by the hair removal bug! I am really torn about whether to do laser or electrolysis for underarms. My main priorities are cost and permanence. The time to perform the procedure is really less of a concern for me.

Electrolysis:
I go to an electrologist for facial hair and I’m pleased with her, although I can’t compare her skills with others since I’ve never tried them.
Cost: $1/minute ($60/hr)

Laser:
I purchased a package of laser hair treatments from a laser treatment center. They use GentleLase and they offer a “packages” where you get 6 treatments for 20% the normal sticker price and a two year guarantee so that maintenance is free for 2 years.
Cost: $720

So, basically, I could either buy an underarm laser package or I could get 12 hours of electrolysis. The electrolysis is slower and more painful but the results are permanent for sure.

ARGH! I can’t decide!

I am not sure how long it would take to clear genetic female underarms, but I am sure one of the pros here can give you a rough idea of how long it would take with electrolysis. Offhand, I would think the price would be competitive with laser, or just a bit more.

Make sure you are an ideal candidate before considering laser, being the hair is dark and thick enough to be effective. If you are concerned about permanence, I’d lean toward electro. The free maintenance package for two years with the laser package is a good deal though.
