Candela Gentlelase Cost for One Hour Session

Because I have needed a lot of laser hair removal, my practitioner and I agreed to a set price of $300/hr. This was a good deal for me because I always was able to get more than my money’s worth in coverage areas. However, I have been going to her for awhile, and now this has become quite expensive. Do you think any Candela Gentlelase practitioners would give me a better deal, like $200/hr? I am in the Bay Area. Thanks.

All you can do is ask. You can re-negotiate with your current laser specialist, too.

How do you define “going to her for awhile”? How many sessions have you had so far? Amount spent? If I am probing too much, I apologize.

Consider yourself lucky! The absolute cheapest I have found in Ohio is $250 for just 15 minutes of treatment! uggghhh

Yeah that sounds really cheap. I do my tummy at a really good clinic in the expensive area in Toronto since my friend works there. It’s an area of maybe 7 inches by 7 inches if that and normally is $300 a session but she does it for me for $100. It literally takes less than 5 minutes to do that whole area. Unless they’re incredibly slow I’d think that you’d be able to cover tons in a whole hour!

$300 for 7x7 area is pretty ridiculous. I would assume that no one actually pays that price and they use that shpiel as a marketing tactic as many clinics do (i.e. make you feel like you’re getting a deal).

Whether $300 per hour is a decent price depends on what you’re treating. Half legs usually take 45-60 mins to treat properly and cost about $200-300. So it would be around the same price for that area. Same for full back. It really depends on what makes sense for YOU specifically.

It is a ridiculous price but like I said it’s at a plastic surgeons office in Yorkville in Toronto which is like the Beverly Hills of Toronto. The $300 is the standard price, I just pay $100 since I know the girl, but laser is only one thing they do, the rest is mostly botox, and cosmetic surgery and so on.

Yes, for me the $300/hr price works for me and is fair because as you said, her price for a full clearing of the upper legs is $300, which takes about an hour. And, for me, I don’t have a lot of hair in a lot of the areas that I work on, especially since I have done numerous treatments on various areas. So, she just gives me the full hour to work here, there, here, over there, etc. and charges me the $300/hr rate. I see her about 2x per month, so we both are happy with our arrangement.

Why are your treatments so frequent? Are you treating different areas each time?

Yes, I pretty much treat different areas each time. I don’t touch any part of my body anymore with anything except the laser, so that means no shaving, nothing. So when an area starts to develop hair, whether on the legs, bikini, underarms, etc., I go in and treat those areas that now have hair.

Your treatments should be spaced 8-12 weeks apart on any one area. You should experience shedding of all treated hair within 3 weeks of every treatment. Whatever doesn’t shed by that point was likely missed and needs a touchup then, i.e. at 3-4 weeks. Otherwise, you should have a hairfree period for at least several more weeks after this point if treatments are effective and hair is actually getting killed.
