I had a full upper body IPL-session a month ago and most hairs shed. But it seems like it’s hard to target the hairs at on the nipple’s circular boundary. Because I noticed that those didn’t shed and then had them rezapped at the touchup treatment, but I think the ones closest to the nipples still haven’t ben zapped? Is it impossible to target those hairs because they are so close to the nipples that have much more pigment than the rest of the skin and therefor can be burnt if hit by the light?
I have heard that area is best left to the experts of electrolysis and that it is very easy for them to treat it.
I’m having laser done on the chest at the moment. Therefore, hair around my nipples are being treated - no issues here.

From my experience, laser did not work as well around the nipples as on other areas of the chest. The follicles there seem to be much deeper. And yes, the skin is darker there and that will hinder diode and alex lasers. I did not try the Nd:YAG laser there. I had some white hairs that needed treatment so I went right to electrolysis.
Nipple hair seems to be especially resilient. Even with electrolysis, many of the follicles had to be treated more than once. But they’re gone now.

This is my experience to RJC2001. Although my practitioner rezapped the hairs around my nipples some of them still don’t shed and also the ones that do shed take a long time to do so, they go so deep into the flesh.
How long ago did you have electrolysis on the hairs around your nipples? Is it long enough to call it permanent? I really hope electrolysis does work.

It was over a year ago that I had them done. A few stragglers popped up over several months, but once they are treated again they are gone. Yes, I would definitely call it permanent. Electrolysis is ideal for the dark skin and deep follicles around the nipples. It sure beats blade shaving. It is very easy to cut yourself there, and when the stubble grows back it rubs against shirts.

I am using a YAG laser, I would say it has worked just like any other part of chest. Hairs that have returned are thiner, there is still hair there post second treatment and a month out since last treatment. This is fine by me as I have only ever been out to achieve a reduction, which so far has been successful. Although, I am still pessimistic, that it will just eventually all grow back. If your going for total removal, from what i’ve read if you are paitent and really want to achieve permanent removal I’d be heading down the electroylsis path. I am planning to do this for parts of my back and shoulders, I am committed to ridding that area permanently and I think electroylsis will do this for me. While it may take time, at least you know once you’ve done it. It will be gone.
