Can one ask to retreat areas with no shedding?

Remember me?? Im back!
So far just one session ( Cutera xeo -YAg side ) on underarms and a “test” on bikini due to my first reaction ( read other post - red welts ). When I went for the 2nd appointment I was not asked to see the previously treated underarm but I showed it to the tech anyway.
Again during bikini there was really no pain at all, and the same settings were used as for underarm . (Settings for ndyag side of cutera xeo prowave machine - 55 and 20 with pulses of greater than 20) . A small welt did appear outside area again but it went down quickly. Everything looked and felt normal afterward and area looks like it is growing as usual.

I have not shaved my underarms since laser, but have had no spontaneous shedding on the underarm so after about 12 days I took shower and went at my underarms with a tweezer to see if any hairs which were growing would slide out easy. Quite a few did slide out easily. Am I to assume those were the successfully treated hairs even though they did not shed on their own ? There are still definitely patches where it looks the same,is growing and not coming out at all , unless i tweezed with force , which of course I wont do.
So can one realistically contact the spa and show them the area and see if they will retreat the area where there is no shedding ?? Is this done?? I am very  grateful for the forum!

Yes you can. I would usually wait 2-3 weeks and if there is no shedding, I would ask for a reshoot

So to prove the lack of shedding I assume you cant shave during that entire time? It seems due to my pulling out the easy hairs that at least some of the area did 'shed"

You can ask anything you want but doesn’t mean they will do it. I’ve gone to one clinic before that was very modern, used Apogee Elite MPX but my hair didn’t shed. When I’d ask, she would tell me almost exactly along these lines:

“listen, you have to get this idea out of your head that hair has to shed for the treatment to work, I don’t know who keeps telling you this but they are WRONG. The hair does NOT have to shed to work, many times it won’t shed at all but the treatment is still effective. So please stop judging how effective the treatment is by the shedding.”

Needless to say I never went back.

Thanks Edokid. Where I live there is really not many options if they wont do it. Besides I paid for a series of treatments. It would be nice if they DONT say this but I wont hold my breath!

Chris , do you mean NO shedding at all you can ask for a reshoot. If much of it has shed and sections haven’t would that be considered fine, as in not needing a reshoot?

If most areas have shed, then wait for your next treatment. If there is NO SHEDDING at all, then get a reshoot.

Thanks Chris. If i knew i could wait LONG times between treatments i would start travelling to NY! You guys there have big hearts!
HOpe it is ok that i helped speed my shedding by sliding the hairs that would come out easily with the tweezers?
