Can IPL on peach fuzz on face induce stimulation

You can read my story at the link below.

I did a lot of areas. I finished all of them, but I added on stuff. My eyebrows and upper lip have been done for probably 4 years now. 5 years for underarms. 4-5 years for the nipple area I think. It’s hard to keep track at this point, which is why I have a diary here for both methods. It varies by area since I didn’t get it all done at once.

We have lots of success stories on the forum if you do some searches and read.

I have an apppintment early Feb with a woman in Auckland who is supposed to be very good. She uses thermolysis and has the British qualification of D.R.E
Not sure whether that really matters but does make me more at ease though.
I have heard that thermolysis is quicker but less effective that it is prone to partial regrowth compared to blend? Is this true? Will it take longer? I don’t think I have a lot of hair to treat? Would blend be better for me? The hair is fine peach fuzz just too many and too long in some areas? The reason I ask is I will have a 2 hour flight to just make it to my appointments alone and flights are expensive. She uses I think A8. Hmm does that sound right was hard to pick up over the phone. I am guessing it is an automatic? Can’t be sure though?

I’m trying to figure out what the “D” in D.R.E stands for? Having initials behind your name doesn’t always matter, but you will find that out in February.

Thermolysis is just as effective as blend. Both methods have to be preformed with skill. When the hair slides out, that is a good sign. If you have a small amount of hair, blend would be fine, but thermolysis would still treat more hair per minute. Your practitioner should decide on the modality to use for you and do what is comfortable for her or him. For peach fuzz, I personally would lean towards thermolysis because peach fuzz is a jungle of hair.

I have no idea what “A8” means.

Hi Dee,
I think D in the D.R.E means diploma in remedial electrolysis. A British qualification. Thanks for your advice. Might start a new thread under electrolysis so others interested in this have no probs finding it. Love the analogy of jungle of hair lol. Feel normal now that is how I see my hair
Oh one more question Joe do I prevent scarring, pitting etc. Anyway to know when treatment is occurring. Also have scar (superficial) under lip is it ossible to treat this safely?

Overtreatment causes scarring and pitting. If you don’t heal well within 7-10 days, that could mean some trouble, but not always. If you get bigger scabs than pin point size and pick or exfoliate the scabs away before they are ready to slough off, then you may get pitting. Watch out for these kind of things. Scarring is rare though.

I see a lot of old scars on the underside of the chin especially. I use either blend or thermolysis for scars depending on what I see.

I have been seeing a client who was shot in the face years ago and there were copious amounts of small, blond hairs in some tough scar tissue along the jaw area. I used thermolysis and she’s looking much, much better. Same goes for another lady who had a couple scars on her upper lip.

It is highly possible to treat scar tissue safely.

All methods are equally effective. Those who bash thermolysis just can’t perform it well. Most of my treatments were done with thermolysis (regular or microflash which is even faster). I’ve only needed blend on the nipple area where the hairs were very deep and curled.

Thanks. Most people in New Zealand seem to useblend machine. The appointment in Auckland is with British woman maybe preference for thermolysis?
I don’t have heaps but I do have slightly longer vellus on cheeks chin under lipand jaw line lol only one side of my face as ipl only did pn one side of face long story can explain but complicated. Other side of face normal length vellus growth can’t really see except for sideburns but have always had this and doesn’t really bother me.
The woman in Auckland has suggested only doing monthly but I am worried this won’t catch hair in growth phase. Sigh so many questions. Hair is not bad but worse than before. Havemore vellus than before which I put down to ipl. Especially since o e side of face has different growth than other.

Once 3-4 weeks is fine. You’ll still catch it in the growth phase. Just make sure you get fully cleared each time.

Blend is fine as well. You may want to get your first clearance with thermolysis, which will be faster, and then keep it up every 3 weeks with blend.
