I’ve been through 2 1 hour treatments of electrolysis on my chin area. For many of the hairs I feel them being pulled out…similar to when you tweeze. I thought I shouldn’t feel them come out at all. Some do come out easier than others, but some are being pulled pretty hard before they come out. At times, when one is really resistant my electrologist will reinsert the probe to try to get the hair to release. Even then, it may come out a little easier but I can still feel the pull. I asked today and she said many of the hairs are thick and deep. Does this sound right? and will it get better as the roots weaken?
It’s fine to feel them come out. It’s NOT ok to feel like they’re being tweezed out, i.e. there is a lot of resistance and you feel the same pinch or pain as when you tweeze.
Yes, some of them actually hurt when pulled…hurts more than the electrolysis itself.
Sample other electrologists so you can compare things.
Ok, thanks. I like the practice so maybe I will try to see someone else there.
You should not feel the same thing one feels when one tweezes a hair out at home with no treatment, however, it is acceptable to have a little bit of a popping through of a large bulb when the shaft is smaller than the bulb and the practitioner doesn’t want to go nuclear on the skin just so the hairs fall out without traction.
Ok, so I will try someone else b/c much of it feels like tweezing at home!
Agree with lagirl look around for someone else you shouldnt feel pulling to the point where its painful.
