Can electrolysis stimulate hair growth?

Hello

I am currently getting electrolysis done on my back.

My lower back has coarse, thick hairs which is where my electrologist and I are currently focusing. In the long run I would like my entire back to be zapped. However, on the rest of my back the hairs are quite fine. I am 23 years old, is it worth me continuing the electrolysis to the fine hair, or waiting a few years? I guess I do not know how my body hair will develop over the next few years, and am worried that electrolysis on the finer hairs might cause more problems.

My electrologist has told me that it is best to do it young, as the hairs are less tough and will react better to the electrolysis. I sort of agree. Even if they’re fine, surely once zapped they will never grow again. Surely, with age, the hairs become more thick/coarse rather than grow completely new?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I’m no expert…just a consumer but I’d say no electrolysis can’t stimulate hair growth. However it may appear that way…say you get a full clearance of an area…3-4 weeks down the line you will have new hairs in that area, you may think they have grown in as a result of the electrolysis but the reality is they are part if your hair cycle and would have grown in but as you already had hair wouldnt have noticed … You would also be shedding some hairs also as part of the cycle.

Also I’ve found that when you clear an area or eliminate the thicker hairs you then begin to notice other hairs present you wouldn’t have noticed due to the thicker ones previously being present.

My personal opinion would be to go for full clearances every session (every 5 weeks?? I only go every 8-10 weeks due to the travelling) …in theory each session should be less time and less growth.

I’ve read on here that after about age 35 males tend to have reached their potential for sprouting hair? If you kill the hairs you have now they will be dead … Just be aware as you age more hairs may grow, these are not previous hairs but new hairs from follicles that were previously inactive (assuming your electrologist is killing the other hairs properly!!)
