Can anyone tell me

Hello to you all, what a fantastic site.

My question is, on the Tria instructions it says not to use on the face if you have metal fillings. Can anyone tell me why this is.

Thanks

Can anyone answer this please.

You should contact Tria directly.

I contacted them and they said it could heat them up, but it is ok as long as I don’t keep going over the same area. I am worried now and don’t know if I should buy one.

Does the same apply to professional treatments?

I’ve never heard of that with professional treatments. My guess is that Tria people are being cautious because they don’t want to get sued.

Are you male or female? I wouldn’t treat male beard with this thing anyway. Too much potential for whaky patchy results.

Same with professional lasers. With repeated treatments, dental work can be damaged. Professionals use cotton lip rolls to protect the fillings.

Wow, my Tria documentation (made in June) says its not to be used on the face at all. I thought this was because of the eye safety issue (since they don’t provide you with goggles)? If they’re now saying it’s safe to use on the face in any way that’s a big change.

I am female. I would really have preferred to have professional treatments done on my face, but due to having agoraphobia that is not possible. The Tria seems like my only alternative and when I read that in the instructions I thought I was going to have to stay hairy or use other methods. Thanks for all your help.

Vulpes, the tria is not meant to be used on mens faces and it can only be used on females in certain places. I also live in the UK so things may be different here.

Shucks, I hope you have coarse hair. You need electrolysis for fine hair. This thing won’t work on fine hair.

lagirl, I shave my chin everyday so I only ever get to feel stubble. I am trying to be brave and not shave for a while to see what it is like, but it is so embarassing. I haven’t bought the Tria yet as I am still not sure what to do. Obviously my biggest problem is not being able to leave the house, so electrolysis is going to be a problem, unless someone can come to my house to do it.

the hair only needs to be a little bit visible in order to be treated with electrolysis. you can still clip. It just needs to be long enough to grasp with tweezers. Laser treatments require you to wait for shedding to happen, which takes 2-3 weeks. The hair will be visible during that time. Electrolysis removes the hair right away and then you go in as soon as the new hair shows again.
