Can anyone recommend a laser removal place in NYC?? (and health)

There seem to be a lot to choose from- can anyone recommend any good ones? (or ones to avoid at all costs). I’m looking just to get my legs, and maybe bikini, done and want to find a place that’s safe but inexpensive.
Also- has anyone found that moles/ freckles affect treatment in any way? I’m concerned lasers might burn them and lead to nasty complications (skin cancer?) at some point down the line- does anyone know?
Thank you!

PS- These are some of the places I’ve seen ads for:
LiteTouch
Laser Cosmetica
American Laser Centers
Romeo & Juliette
Smooth Touch
Berenice
any feedback to share??

You can try LaserX 718-646-2989, free consultation

I’m a Certified Laser Specialist and have been performing laser treatments for 6 years. Recently I started my own business, Strictly Laser. I also am running the laser department at Nickel, a spa for men in NYC. My prices are affordable. If you want any more info e-mail me at lasertru@hotmail.com

I’m sorry, I forgot to answer your question. I will treat areas where there are freckles, this is not a problem. I will not go over a raised mole, since the laser has the ability to remove moles, if I remove the mole, there is no way to detect for skin Cancer. If the mole is really hairy, I might treat at very low settings and let the client know that removing the hair from the mole will take a lot of treatments.
hope this helped

Anyone ever hear of Lynda Christine in NYC on the East side? She works in Body Beautiful spa. Did anyone use her for Laser hair removal?

I’m interested to hear who you end up going with. I too am looking around NYC for a place to start treatment. Thanks.

Ive heard of 2 places… Romeo& Juliette and Assara Laser! I’m debating between the two!! Prices at Assara seem a bit better than those at R&J!!! Ive been asking around about Assara and waiting to hear back if anyone has been etc!! My friend used to goto R&J but then stopped because she wasn’t completly satisfied and always found herself waiting around for an hour and sometimes longer from the time of her appointment so it wound up being like almost a 2hr ordeal!!! Sorry but i have no patience for that thats why ive been so hesitant!! Anyone have any suggestions???

I’ve been to both. I wouldn’t say that Romeo is all that bad. THey’ve had problems with staff (I, for one, never had the same techincian twice!), but their machines are just as good as the ones at Assara Laser (i.e., they both have the Apogee Elite, etc.) Though I’ve only been to Assara once, they seem to have a cheerier staff, but who knows. They both seem like pretty good choices.

i have an appointment at assara on monday for a consultation…ill let you know how it goes!!!

I had my first treatment at Assara Laser. I would definitly say that it was a good experience. The Staff are very professional. I was kind of scared that it was gonna be extremly painful (I was gonna use emla cream but decided not to because I didnt want to wait and the technician said that i should try it out first without it and if its too painful then to put it). She made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. I’m definitly looking forward to my next appointment!

Save your money ppl Laser does not work. I’ve been to the top Laser Dr. in NYC. Wasted over $6,000 in the last yr and 8 months.

I tell you this from my heart, SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!

can you explain exactly what happened? what laser? what areas? how many treatments? settings etc? there is usually a reason why it didn’t work. and being a doctor means absolutely nothing in hair removal. there is not medical degree you can get at med school in hair removal. you need someone who has a lot of hair removal experience.

I see that the question about Body Beautiful is an older post, but I did go there in 2005 for hair removal from my chin and upper lip. It was a bad experience. i bought a package and while the very first visit was good, after that I was treated like an annoyance. There were canceled appointments on a couple of occasions, I kept calling and leaving messages to reschedule but they would never call back. Eventually, maybe 3 weeks after one of the originally scheduled appointments, someone finally answered the phone. Apparently they were painting and doing minor renovations. Another time it was b/c they flooded and changed phone companies (huh?). Honestly, no excuse for not returning phone calls for weeks at a time. It threw my treatment schedule way off. There were other things too, like making me wait around 45 minutes after my scheduled time before taking me, and also using different types of lasers on different visits. I certainly woud NOT recommend Body Beautiful to anyone.

On another note - does anyone know anything about Randee Elaine? I’ve been for a couple of treatments. I got a great price on full leg and brazilian, but still have to wonder if anyone has input.

Thanks.

Yup, she does a good job with the lightsheer diode and her rates are reasonable. Note that she does not treat all areas (full bikini, etc). I went right around when they were finishing their renovations. Haven’t gone there for a while, so I’m sorry to hear about the flooding. Not a surprise with all the rain we’ve been getting.

now, as far as overall efficacy of laser goes, i can’t say with 100% that I got great results since I stopped after getting a handful of treatments. i just don’t know firsthand.

Try Silk Skin. They have a vascular surgeon on staff and great estheticians.

um. self-promotion is not a referral

I just got treated by Lynda recently and am very pleased to experience smooth skin (only happened when I received laser treatments). There’s barely any hair left. Her information again. As you can see she is registered.

I have had several treatments with Lynda Christine and have been very happy with my results. I am away on business alot and she does a great job with scheduling me on short notice. I have recommended her to several of my friends who have been very pleased with their results. She is a registered nurse and is really good at what she does. I totally recommend her to anyone looking for treatment in the NYC area!
