You know what I find very hard to understand? The fact that in this forum and some other laser forum that I been to nobody is able to refer not even one specialist, why is that? And since alot of people that visit these forums that I been to are from the NYC area I figure somebody would be able to refer me to somebody. I would feel much better if I went to somebody that I knew a patient has had success with. As some of you know I was supposed to go to Lucy Peters but the person that was gonna treat me told me to shave my back one week before treatment and I ended up breaking out with pimples so I had to post pone it and ultimatley I decided not to go with Lucy Peters because there to expensive to be taking such a risk as Electrolysis. So can someone refer an electrologist in NYC from personal experience? Maybe you, a friend, or a family member has had success with someone and that would make me feel much more comfortable in going to them. Thank you.
Moe, go to the AEA website and look under NYC and I’m sure you will find a reputable electrologist.
Moe, I do not recommend specific practitioners, but I just listed five for further research here.
After all these years, we are still struggling to have people help us out with the simple answer, “Who is good in Anytown USA”
Please people, post back and tell us about the wonderful electrologists you find out there so some one else can find them, and your practitioner doesn’t chuck her machine and go back to full time nursing in a hospital.
Moe, I thought you were going to Fino Gior and his sons in NYC?? Geez, where have I been.
Fino has a daughter as well who is an excellent electrologist as well, as told by a few happy posters here on hairtell.
md, those posts are from 2002.
My point was more the fact that so many people do what Moe did. first post in october 2002, found the Giors via this site, last post january 2003, never a word to say, “I am finished, and happy with my results.”
We assume that is what happened, as we know the Gior’s work, and we expect that if such a famous electrologist was to be viewed as having “failed” someone, a person would have come back to moan about it here.
I guess I was just trying to make the point that people should try to give back by not letting their post string drop with no conclusion so that new people on here are not always posting stuff like “Electrolysis, No Proof It Works!”
Actually,I think what you are doing, James, is a very creative way to reinforce concepts important to electrolysis. I know it takes time to familiarize yourself with something posted in 2002 so you can even make pertinent comments.
Everybody loves a story that has a beginning, middle and end and many get annoyed when there are no conclusions. Think of a tv series that leaves us guessing what happened for several months. At least we eventually find out though. There are a lot of cliffhangers here on hairtell where the lights go out forever more, leaving people puzzled and asking, was something effective in the long-run? So for anyone new coming here to ask questions or to just keep a “personal” journey to share with the multitudes, the message is, “Please finish the story”. Think of this as a small, but meaningful act that you can do to help others.

Right; I was merely pointing out the fact that back in 2002 we heard from Moe that he had begun seeing an electrologist. Five years later, he is asking for a referral in the same area. Regardless of who he once saw, there was very little, shall I say, in between.
He is not asking for a new referral, the point here was that he asked for a referral in 2002, found who he wanted to work with, and has not spoken on the site again since January 2003.
The string got bumped back on active without his participation.
I’ve been going to one in NYC for almost 4 months now and am happy. She’s in Manhattan on the east side. If you want her contact info, please message me in private.
How about finding your electro in the referral section and posting under her name a quick “I tried her and I like her” note, or just going to the referrals section and posting her info and saying the same?
Everyone wants to know who is good, but no one wants to tell who they found that is good.
I have visited many electrologists and my favorites are Ronnie Kolotkin in Manhattan and Arlene Batz in Queens. I have lots of work to do and Arlene Batz has better prices and her office is modern and very comfortable. She is very kind to me.
Dear 2much,
Thank you. I think that the electrologists who contribute to this site tend to be among the finest and courageous in the field of hair removal. By putting ourselves OUT THERE, we become targets and it is kind when our clients let us know that we are making a difference in their lives.
