bumps one week after lightsheer treatment

Hi there, it’s been one week since my second treatment. The lady who did for me set she increased the setting this time. So it hurted a lot more than first time. I was also left with hyperpigmentation that looks like burn marks. The pain lasted for 3 days. But otherwise everything is fine.

1 week later, my lower leg started to be bumpy, like those would be caused by ingrown hairs. It’s a little itchy but managable. It’s been three days now since it started to be bumpy, there’s no hair on the bumps or that i can see. Can some one tell me why is that the case. I didn’t get it the first time. As well, I’m prone to hyperpigmentation after injury to skin (e.g burns, or scratch). Do you think this hyperpigmentation caused by laser treatment will go away? cause my other marks caued by burn or rubbing did not go away.
Thank you very much!!!

What is your skin type and ethnic background? Can you call the clinic and ask for joules, pulse width, and spot size used?

Pigmentation is a sign that the settings are a bit high. It goes away with time, but may take several months. It’s not a burn.

Right now, you should be seeing raised follicles. It’s normal for the area to be a bit itchy too as the dead hairs have to work themselves out to shed. Apply cool pure aloe vera gel, the clear stuff used for sunburns. It will help. And let us know how shedding goes in 2 weeks.

I’m chinese, not sure it’s type I or II skin. Not dark for sure. and my hair is dark and coarse. I’ll the person tonight to ask. I did it at a girl’s house. She operates the machine at her house. The price range is affordable to me. wonder if that’s a bad choice.

the bumps that i have, does not show hairs underneath them, I’m worried, if the hair is trapped, will they ever get out and being shedded? And for the hairs that’s not trapped, so the ones that i can see, there’s no bumps there. Does that sound right to you?

And should I exfoliate the area with pumice stone to help the hair emerge? Or that will worsen the inflammation? I’m so worried now, b/c i’m prone to scaring and darkening of the skin. thx a lot

Where are you located? Operating out of someone’s house doesn’t sound very legit…at least not in the US.

Since you’re Asian, you’re NOT a type I or II. You’re likely a IV or so, maybe between III and IV if you’re pretty light for Chinese. Asian skin has underlying pigment.

Shedding takes 3 weeks. It doesn’t start until week 1.5 or so after treatment. So you need to be patient. They’re not trapped. You shouldn’t touch it much for at least a week or so.

Hey La girl , sorry for the delayed response. I was too busy last week to post. Ok I’m located in Toronto Canada. The girl told me she used 28J on me and put me on auto setting, (not sure what that means). Right now, the white bumps, which some of them are larger some smaller, comes and goes, also developped to my arms where I didn’t have the laser hair removal done. As for my legs, it’s still itchy, less bumps, but still there. I’m not sure whether they are hives or not. they are flesh coloured non-uniform and I don’t know why I’m getting them. Soooooo annoyed, I’ve been scratching my leg so bad, that there’s bruise and scar everywhere now.

Please dont use a pumice stone on your skin at any time.

It sounds like you got pigmentation which happens because the settings are too high for your skin type. This means you need a Yag laser and this one is too powerful for you.

Please buy some pure clear aloe vera gel at a drugstore, cool it in the fridge and apply to help with itching. Don’t scratch.
