bruising

Hi there,

I had a treatment today and I have what looks like a small purplish bruise on my neck. I’ve called my electrologist but I don’t think she is around again until Monday. I read that this can be cause by improper insertion but did not find anything about what to do? ice?

I am guessing to leave it alone (and do routine aftercare) and it will go away but just want to check.

It will absorb in a couple days or so. Probably an improper insertion, but hey, we’re only human and the neck is a difficult area to treat. If you had several bruised areas on your neck, then I would raise my eyebrows. Give your electrologist feedback, okay?

Are you taking any blood thinning medications? Aspirin, Coumadin, ginko???

Ice is fine, witch hazel would be good, also. It will go away.

Bruising is one of the rare occurances that can happen - even with good treatment.

I had bruising a few times. In fact, one electrologist had said, “I think you’re going to bruise right here, so go home and put ice on it.” It was misinsertions or too long of “zaps”.

I forgot to do anything about it and it went away on its own. They all did.

Thanks everyone for the replies! I am so happy to hear this will go away.

dfahey-I’m not on any blood thinner, my neck is always pretty sensitive so I figured it was a reaction to an improper insertion. I will definitely let my electrologist know.
