Brown spot on butt cheeks?

Hi,

I recently had laser hair removal and found two brown spots on each butt cheek. They look like brownish bruises.

Will they go away in time (months or years)? Are they permanent?

Technical info.: white skin with dark hair / machine used: Soprano / 2nd LHR appointment.

What you describe is temporary most likely. It can take 3 weeks to 3 months to fade. If it is deeper trauma, it can take up to 6 months to a year to fade.

Take a picture and ask your laser specialist or stop in and have them give their opinion. You can submit a picture here by uploading to photobucket and copying and pasting the tags here.

Thank you for your quick response.

The brown spots I mentioned coincide with the pressure I feel when sitting down - I think it might be related to the bones that exert pressure on the buttocks when sitting down.

Would this be considered “deeper trauma”? I have unwittingly lost a lot of weight which might explain why I feel a bit of discomfort when sitting down.

As a precaution I will not be having any more LHR on that area.

Thank you again.

The laser light shouldn’t penetrate to the bone on the buttock area? I know you are speculating as best you can, but that doesn’t sound like a plausible outcome.

What I meant was that perhaps the bones exerted more pressure than usual on the area and may have produced a slight redness in the area, so when the laser was used it might have helped to create those spots by accentuating those possible red marks - which I imagine must have been there.

Thank you for your reply.

Laser cannot “see” red. It is attracted to black.
