I’ve got some hair growth on my breasts (I’m female), not very prominent (apart from a few darker hairs, which I pluck), but I’d still prefer it not to be there. Would depilatories be helpful for that?

You can try a depilatory, but I would not recommend it personally. The skin in that area can be easily burned by the chemicals.
If it’s a lot of downy hairs, more than you care to pluck, you might wax or epilate them. Again, be very careful around the nipples.
