Brazilian, light hair, and shaving after lasering

Hello all, Im new to the community and have been scouring the forums looking for all the laser answers I need. Here are a few I couldn’t find.

1- If I opt for a brazilian, will I get the “whole” package, ie; butt also, and if so, will I have to do the dog position (embarrasing:()?

2- I have about 3 dark hairs on my chin, medium hair on my lip, and lots of blonde hair all over my face. I noticed some of the blonde hair does have a slight brown pigment when you angle it in the light, would a full face lasering work best for me? I know the blonde hair wont be affected completely, but slowing of the growth would be ideal. Also, I use the “smooth away” which basically buffs off hair, will this affect my outcome negatively even though the root of the hair is not taken out?

3- I have had one terrible experience with an IPL laser on my stomach that gave me second degree burns and discoloration for over a year. I waited until the discoloration disappeared and just had another laser treatment on my stomach last week. I shave my stomach every day because my hair grows so fast, but is that bad for the dead hair follicles?

Thanks for any responses!

Regarding your face: Electrolysis.

I don’t think you’d want a LASER to touch your face. I have read about it possibly inducing more growth. If they are blond, even with a little pigment, LASER is pretty much useless anyway.

Is there a reason why you have not been to an electrologist for your facial hair and abdominal hair? A modern, informed electrologist will make haste on this hair and you will be pleased and well satisfied with the RESULTS. Laser is risky for facial hair and will not work on your hair color.

Thank you for your answers. dfahey, I did see an electrologist about 6 years ago for my eyebrows, abdomen, and lip, and plan on making an appointment with one again for the same things. I did the laser on my abdomen last week mostly because of price and time issues.

My main concern is the amount of blonde hair I have on my cheeks and chin, I think it would take more than a few hours for even the most skilled electrologist to rid me of it. Im fairly certain I have more facial hair than my boyfriend and even though its blonde, its very annoying. This is why I was considering laser just to try slow the growth and possibly thin it out. I am afraid of the possible side effects though, ie; making more hair grow and hyperpigmentation.

Your only option is electrolysis. Laser hair reduction is not going to affect the blond hair on your chin and cheeks. Laser will not slow the growth. Laser cannot thin out the hair. It will do nothing for you. It is not for thin hair or hair that lacks color.

You have three choices. You can accept yourself as you are, you can go through the never-ending expense of rubbing Vaniqa on your facial areas twice a day and hope that it retards the hair growth or you can start electrolysis. Electrolysis is not as time consuming as you may have heard. Even if you think it is, it doesn’t matter, because it’s the only permanent choice you have! If you settle on an electrologist that does microflash or picoflash thermolysis, you will be surprised at how things proceed over a year. She/he MUST have quality vision aids and they must know how to position you and the light in order to see all the longer blonde hairs that you desire to be treated. Without a good setup, it will be slower than you probably would like, but you will still attain the look you like.

There is nothing cheap, quick or easy about permanent hair removal, but that should be okay with anyone who understands that permanent hair removal means a lifetime ahead of no worries or shame about hair on your face. The younger you start, the more years you have to enjoy the results. I can’t be any more “bottomline” than that. THINK electrolysis or spin your wheels for the rest of your life. Think MicroFlash or PicoFlash.

I have never heard of MicroFlash or PicoFlash, but if thats my best option I will definitely make an appointment for electrolysis today. Thanks Dee.
