A little background: been to 2 other electrologist. First was super cautious and always used a low setting. When I brought up concern about high regrowth, she told me that she just weakens the hair and it takes many times to actually kill it. Ugh.
Second lady I felt was better. She was meticulously taking notes about number of hairs removed and settings, which I liked. She would increase power (?) if I didn’t react poorly. She was concerned about my hormones. My obgyn said I’m in ‘normal’ range but would not really explain any of it to me. I’m not sure where to go from there. Any recommendations for a more in depth hormone testing options? (And real explanations to what the numbers mean?) Anyway… Then we moved to another state.
It’s been well over a year since any treatment (though I’m ashamed to say I did start plucking again) and now with a job, I have some money to readdress the hair issue. (Facial: lip, chin, neck, jawline etc) I’m currently seeing an electrologist and am pleased thus far. I’ve noticed if he gets any resistance, he treats again and so I’ve never felt him pluck. I’ve only gone twice for 30 minutes each time. Have another ally in a week. Haven’t gotten full clearance yet.
Now I know I’ve not helped at all when I returned to plucking, I’ve stopped. but I was wondering, if plucking causes blood to come to the area and that stimulates new growth, does the same happen with ineffective electrolysis? And what about blood coming to heal the area, even if the one follicle is killed, could I be worsening the issue if I truly have hormone imbalances? (so I guess it did come full circle back to hormones)
Thanks!
Ps. Sorry for any typos. On my phone and it’s a tiny keyboard! 😜
