I met 2 electrologists last week for the consultation. first one told me that blend electrolysis is the most painful thing so i should not go for it. but second one uses that method only. i am not sure which one i should choose. I am not too hairy but facial hair bothers me a lot.
Have you sampled what blend feels like? You will have to decide for yourself what blend feels like verses thermolysis in all it’s forms, manual thermolysis, flash thermolysis, microflash thermolysis and if someone near you has an Apilus Platinum, picoflash.
Everybody is different. Some of my clients like blend better than microflash and others like microflash better than blend. Both modalities will work for you.
yes, I don’t think you can classify pain like that. Even for me, on one day thermolysis feels better, on another Microflash, and then another blend is a piece of cake. the most important thing is skill of the electrologist. You should sample the treatments with various ones, no matter which type they perform and see if you feel any hairs being plucked etc. Pain should be mostly negligeable on most areas with a good electrologist and can be adjusted as well if you’re very sensitive.
electologist # 1 was very professional. she worked on the small area to show me how it works and feels. she didnt discuss anything about the equipment and how she changed settings and all… but she inserted the probe for a fraction of a second and took out the hair. i was so happy because it didnt hurt me. she mentioned initially that it wasnt blend method. the area treated was red for half an hour. but it was normal after that.
second one was not professional but from her consultation, i felt that she was honest. she works from home. schedules are flexible. she herself was benefited from blend method so she decied to step into this profession and help people to get rid of unwanted hair. she also removed some hair from my chin. she set the setting to 88 (i am not sure what it is) and inserted the probe for quite a long time (7-8 seconds). it was painful.i guessed she worked on 10-15 hair. and i saw 3-4 for small red spots on my face. i am not sure what is it. this second one doesnt have many clients but i felt that whatever she explained was good. i am just scared that if i go for longer session, will the entire area be red for some days??
can anyone please tell me which method / electrologist was good and i should try for longer session (1/2 hour)
It sounds like #1 is your best bet, but you need to go further with her. She’s doing thermolysis (heat) to destroy the hair follicle. Again, both methods will work. Make sure the hair slides out with little resistance and watch the skin healing.
You will get more hairs treated per hour and get to a first full clearance with the first lady, which would be a great start for you.
Nothing wrong with the second lady if she works from home. It should be hygenic and if she has the skills and knowledge then you will still get permanent hair removal.
There are so many variables. It could be the practitioner, it could be the method, it could be the machine, it could even be the condition of the body the client has brought in that day.
I will aslo agree, it sounds like you might get more work done and more quickly with practitioner number one.
i vote for #1 as well. it will be much faster too with thermolysis which it seems she’s performing if she was zapping and removing the hairs right away.
thanks a lot for the replies.
i checked with # 1 about the blend method but she told me blend is good for very course hair. thermolysis is good for me initially. if required she can use both the methods after 3-4 sittings. she also told me that blend method might leave scars on the face. i am convinced with her. i have booked my first electrolysis appointment with # 1 on thursday.
Get some pictures now of the areas you plan to treat. Note how much growth you have at the time (e.g. “two weeks since shaving”) and then you can easily compare your initial appearance with the treated area (under the same growth period) later on…
