I’ve been using bleach cream but i read that bleaching can cause the hair to become more erect and obvious (i agree). can anyone support or argue against this? Because i’m starting to think bleaching my hair is making it Worst!
are there any long term side effects with bleaching? (esp. with hair texture, hair growth, rate of growth, skin & etc…)
Bleaching “plumps up” the hairs, via the chemical process causing oxygen to be bubbled into the interior of the follicle. One may lose the pigment of the hair, but the hairs will actually become thicker due to this process. If the skin gets irritated from the constant bleaching, the hairs will start to grow thicker as well to begin with.
Shaving and clipping really are the best temporary options. Everything else tends to make the hairs thicker and darker, and more difficult to remove later.
I can’t speak for science, but I’ve been bleaching my arm hair for about six years. Yeah, I’m a guy, but it makes it alot less noticeable. I don’t notice any difference in the amount of hair I have on my arms now compared to what i did when I was 18. Still kind of lost on how bleaching the color of ones hair makes it grow thicker. I’ve noticed very little irritation from it…and certainly there are many other things that can irritate the skin. Will all irritations make hair grow more coarse? Such as being prone to ingrowns…does this irritation cause hair to grow more coarse?
I bleached my upper lip and abdomen for years before I had electrolysis done and it didn’t cause any changes. Your hair does start to get used to it after a while and it seems that the color doesn’t as last as long, but it still works, and did a great job for me for many years.
i guess it depends on what area you want to bleach, how much hair there is, and what the alternatives are.
