Best Laser type for Beard area neck hair removal.

Hello everyone. I’m looking to have the neck area of my beard removed as i’m starting to go grey and I want to be able to shave regularly without having to irritate the neck area. Not to many grey’s in my neck area as of yet as I know lasers don’t target them so I’d like to get the neck area done so I can shave my face regularly as i never get irritated outbreaks there anyway. Just wondering what the best type of laser I should use for this would be? I’m sure i’ll need at least 4-6 treatments for this procedure which is fine w/ me. I have fair skin/ dark and course hair type.

Welcome to the forum.
You would need either Alex or Diode laser, avoid IPL and Yag in your case.
I would personally say Soprano XL laser as it’s a diode but i’m biased because that’s what i use.
As long as it’s a reputable Alex or Diode and as long as the place you pick know what they are doing, you should be fine.

I had great results on neck and cheeks with alex and then yag. Chin and upper lip are next to impossible to treat. If I don’t shave for several days it looks like I have a goatee. No matter how many sessions with high settings I do, those areas never get reduced. Only the yag has been able to even make them shed, so just be aware of that.

Thanks for the advice guys. Edokid any reason you switched from alex to yag? Yea, I’ve heard the goatee area of the face is the hardest to treat. I’m not really worried about the face area at all at this point since I can get away with shaving that area regularly without too much irritation. Just looking to eliminate as much of the neck area hair as I can at this point. Also how many sessions did it take you to get rid of most of your neck area? I have a lot of hair in my neck area so i’m probably going to need about 10 sessions I imagine.

Odi, finding a decent place in my area is def going to be the hard part. I live in the south jersey/philadelphia area and I haven’t seen to many reputable places around. Especially, for the area I want to get treated.

Try to follow the reviews, as long as they seem real and there are enough of them, that should give you a decent picture about who you’re going to.

I’ve had Soprano and YAG. YAG was PAINFUL but then again, I medium brown toned. Soprano was painful too, but was nowhere near as painful as YAG and only took a few minutes. With the YAG, I was in pain for atleast 10-20 minutes depending on the area. Soprano seems to be the “it” laser now and days.

Thanks for the advice MonicaL I’ll have to research this! Is the Soprano supposed to be good for ALL skin types and male beard hair? Also I’m not very concerned about Pain that much. Just results

Yes! The Soprano laser works on all hair and skin types, including men!
