Best laser for male large hairy back in Toronto

Please can people help me decide which laser to go with. I am a large muscular male with heavy dense hair growth all over my body, type 3 skin. I am looking to reduce or eliminate most of the hair on my back, shoulders, neck area down to the collar bone area. I went to my doctor who owns a laser hair removal clinique. He told me his Palomar (don’t know model #) was 4 years old but his technician was the best and that was one of the most important issues to consider. He quoted about 700.00 Canadian each session for about 8 sessions. He also stated I should start soon because I am starting to get many grey hairs (which is true) and lasers will not work on grey. This is the reason I don’t have much time to research as I wanted to get started asap. There is also another doctor in Toronto area offering the Palomar Starlux 500, I haven’t been to this clinic yet. Any advise as to which laser would be best for my large body area and anyone know any good clinics in the Toronto, Vaughan, Mississauga area. I’m not necessarily looking for total removal but at least I would like to have much less hair so I can tolerate getting my body waxed. Thanks for any advise.

I am not the know it all when it comes to laser manufacturers but I am pretty sure Palomar makes intense pulse light machines and calls them lasers which they are not.

Find a clinic that uses an Alexandrite laser like the Candela Gentlase or Cynosure Apogee Elite.

You can perform a provider search from the Candela website, probably from the Cynosure website as well.

IPL is not as effective as LHR and 700 dollars is on the high end.

Make sure you are only treating dense, coarse hair. Laser hair removal has been known to induce more growth in certain areas such as the male back and upper arms. This is generally true only if you dont have a lot of hair in these areas already which it sounds like you do.

I would not go with an IPL. Anyone with an IPL is not serious about hair removal, only making money.

Yes the hair is very dense and coarse. Thanks for the advise.
